I drive only in S, so prefer it to engage S with a single push. But I do like the feature of remembering the last setting. I usually drive in S4
There are no options to change this, so no, it was not my choice. You would have to double tap to engage S mode if you updated to GTS software. However, it's a better compromise and quicker to double tap rather than having to tap once then press up on the S setting button like you are doing now though.

Either way, it's $60 to code Euro MDM along with whatever other coding options you want that he offers.
Euro MDM has nothing to do with Euro DCT software. All you got was the Euro DCT software loaded up. I have it too, and it does make a difference.

No. You can have the Euro DCT software with US MDM - That's what I have. Remember, the GTS never made it over to the US.

How can I in Chicago get the GTS, euro MDM and other coding done without driving to Cali, Zona or somewhere far away?

Glad to see Alex is still around and doing coding. I PM'd him a couple weeks ago and never heard back. Posted in his coding thread as well.

Is there any safety precautions to be concerned about? I've heard the GTS has more coolers on their DCT transmission than US spec cars. I assume this is very little of a concern but just curious about longevity or any possible issues?

No concerns Derek. As you can see many are running it, I have ran it for a very long time now on many cars, tuners have been using it since 2009 as far as I can remember.

Wow, $60!

And I thought I made out like a bandit to get coding for $100 locally when tuners are charging $400. Just did it this week, too. Just my luck.

Alex@alpine, you have an incoming email!

What's the difference between the DCT-GTS Software (Euro DCT?) and the revised 2011+USSpec DCT update?

I'm a but confuse, so DCT-GTS has 3 settings?

Same thing. The only difference between the Euro DCT software and US DCT software is that the the car starts off in D2 and remembers your S mode instead of being the other way around. The GTS is equipped with EURO DCT software. I've noticed the car doesn't buck anymore on cold starts.
