Buying an M3, what to look out for....?

Guys,

Going to look at a 2008 (08 reg) E90 M3 DCT tomorrow and I'm wondering what specifics (if any) I should look out for when buying an M3 of this age?

It's done 70k miles with full bmw service history including running in service and last service at 68k, with 3 owners.

Appreciate any thoughts.

I would get there early in the morning before anyone has had the chance to start the engine and listen careful for unusual ticking. Best to view some of Gintani's videos prior, that way you know what you are looking for.

Other than that, I don't think there is much you can find without a PPI besides cosmetic stuff.

Pre-Purchase Inspection. You can have it performed by an independent mechanic preferably someone who knows BMWs.

Been to look at the car. Looks lovely. Great condition and much better in person than in the photos. Lovely to drive also.

Car was started from cold in front of me and I could hear a ticking but it didn't sound unusual. I can't say I would know exactly what I'm looking for however. The chap said its normal, it's what they do. It sounded like it was coming from the right hand side of the engine bay (as you're standing in front of the car looking at the engine bay).

Any thoughts?
