I'm right there now- opinions- should I

HI Guys - New to the forums. I am close on this 2010 from a local dealer-
https://www.laurelbmw.com/used/BMW/2...a8f83e35db.htm
One owner- 6 speed, $29,205 (they are slowly cutting from $33,000)
I have seen and driven the car and it looks well kept( the usual exterior wear and tear)

I have never owned an M3, but the miles, lack of CPo and bearing talk here has me concerned- HOWEVER- is this price low enough to do the engine work and feel safe-
Cant hurt my feelings - I walked away at this price -
Thanks for all your informed opinions in advance.

Price looks right in the ballpark to me given E90/year/miles/options.

Not sure what you mean by 'is this price low enough to do the engine work and feel safe' - ?

I bought my '09 E90 w/ 61K miles and had the bearings replaced within 6 months of ownership, only because I love the car and plan to keep it for the long run. Didn't want to worry about them, and the car will be easier to sell with the RB's replaced.

Good luck with decision, car looks nice. E90 w/ FR interior and 6MT -

Yea, Mineral White is a color that I was looking for. Melbourne Red was my other color of choice. Two M3's and the E93 328i M-Sport. The 328i handles on par with the M3. Ok, not at the same speeds but it can do the same things at 40mph that the M3 can do. The higher the speed there is definitely some understeer on the 328. I don't think the non M cars with M -Sport suspensions get the credit they are due. It's handles superbly, it's just lacking in power as a mid 14 second 1/4 mile car when you compare it to 12 second M cars. I do have the 328 for sale but just a bunch of tire kickers looking at it. Or making ridiculous offers as if I need the money today. I usually take them over to the M3's and say I think Ill pass on the lowball offer. Im just rambling on, excuse me.

Even their SUV lineup to an extent. I had a stripper X3 loaner recently and was pleasantly surprised that it held its own.

I shared the same sentiments while driving on some curvy roads.

This one sounds like a winner. Congrats. I would think a picture or two is in order.

Price: $19.7k

Single owner car, clean carfax, all service records, seemed like a responsible guy/trustworthy.

I immediately dropped $3,700 to have all maintenance done incl all fluids, plugs, filters and....bearings. Originals looked bad but not horrible.
Shop figured they had 10k left in them, give or take. A couple were worn through to the cooper.

Only mods:OEM exhaust mod (straight through and sounds amazing) and tint.

This is my second E9x M3 and am just as happy as I was with the first one. Car still pulls strong and feels close to new. At 94k miles, that's noteworthy.
I love how some of these shops are proposing that the bearings were just about to catastrophically fail...It really makes it seem as if we should be seeing a LOT more catastrophic failures than we actually do, if every time a shop replaces a set it turns out that the oem bearings were going to fail very soon. Do the people having their bearings replaced all have perfect timing? Perhaps they are just helping the customer further validate the replacement, although the drastic wear alone should be enough.
