Your thoughts and feedback – catless X-pipe with resonators (4)
I thought the post can help me form a better decision on the modifications I am thinking about.
First my goals are
Based on my calculations (assuming a 15% delta between CHP and WHP) I will need to aim for at 410 WHP and I would like to stay NA if possible. The improvements I am currently thinking off are
So my questions now are
Feedback and opinions are welcome. Thanks for reading, Guenther |

Honestly, for the price youre better off going with a supercharger especially if you intend on doing akra plus an x pipe which will easily tally 5K whereas you can do a new supercharger for ~8K.

Yes, thanks, I thought about this option too.
My main concern is my current understanding that superchargers are not street legal in California, so I am currently assuming that I will have a problem with inspection in Massachusetts as well. I think the regulations are the same. So for me - changing the X-pipe and the tune to get an inspection is just a lot less work than with a supercharger. |

You really care...about street legal tune in So Cal??
Catless X-pipe is not street legal. Tint is not legal in CA. Tune to 93 octane also..I believe... For the exhaust..if you do not want to spend a lot of money.. Buy Macht Schnell test pipe ($500) and do OEM mod ($200).... If you delete resonators, you would get raspy

No, sorry my mistake for not providing enough details. I am currently "trying" to use the Cal rules, because it is my impression - what passes inspection in Cal will also pass in MA. I am sorry I don't know the exact differences between MA and Cal, meaning what will not pass in Cal but will pass in MA. So I kind of go a safer route at the moment. |

Have you done the OEM mod with the test pipe?
No I have not and I am not sure whether this is a good idea, because of the sound effects. There is also a separate thread called “OEM mod + Catless” on this subject it think. |

With our full Bolt on N/A system we got 398 Whp
That sounds great. Could you also please be so kind and help me understand whether this will pass MA state inspection? I really would like to be sure before I make my decisions. |
