POTENTIAL Leaked engine specs
OK guys, I was hesitant to post this because I could not verify it myself. Seems a bit fishy. However, I have seen the same data posted here, GCZ and elsewhere. However no sign of it at the Road and Track website. It is also hard to believe that this was pulled from an off the shelf magazine and someone does not already have it scanned and posted. Anyway the post here claims that R&T claims the info is straight from BMW. OP makes some very nice analysis vs. RS4, 335i, E46 M3 and E60 M5 power plants as well.

Nice pics and a good looking powerplant. I wonder why it doesn't have the same plenum as the M5/M6 minus two cylinders of course. I'm talking about the dual inlets and plenum chambers, one for each bank of cylinders. Exhaust looks nice.

what a shame, I found 360nm not that good on my E46 so 400 wont be much better? I hope and pray that BMW has not made us wait in vain. I have massive respect for anything M and have waited a very along time for this car. In the time I have waited I have turned down a RS4 and a Carrera S. Please BMW don’t leave us with egg on our faces. BMW could build a sowing machine and put an M badge on it and it will outsell any RS.

give us more M POWER
BMW is out to prove a point smaller engine, less power yet faster car! Why not give us more power and much faster car! I am angry with only 420ps and 400nm . I am happy with the high rev limit .

The weight of the motor itself is pretty low, all things considered. I don't see the cf airbox some people speculated about based on the sound of the concept car motor. . . |

Hi new to the forum but LONG time reader, have had the daddy m3 e36 evo 4 door, have placed my deposit (£3K) for 4 door m3 #1! the figures stated would you say they are conservative if so do audi and the rest of the comp not do the same?, i was hoping for 430BHP but definitaly wantd more torque than the RS4 , but wouldnt the m3 be puuting much more of it to the road wheels as there is no four wheel drive, so theoretically lighter car lower centre of grav more torq to the wheels surely equals faster 0-60?? also looking at the cool pics posted of the engine it seems the water pump is not going to be electric? and also like the previous post i was hoping for the individual chambers coz that always look hot but may be its due to space saving reasons? newayz the mac is back BEEMAS RULE PS in the UK we have a show called top gear on there they implied that its not really so much of being conservative with the power figures its to do with making sure that where ever the vehicle gets shipped irrespective of altitude and quality of fuel they want it to atleast have the power that they state so it does not become embarissing, may be that is another reason figures are slightly higher in europe we generally have 95 ron as standard and 98 ron as super unleaded? thanks for hearing me out!!
