Buying used BBS rims

I'm looking at buying some BBS LM rims off the classified section (or other used source) and am wondering if there are things I should look for to ensure authenticity?

I'm thinking:

Serial # Placement
Finish Appearance
BBS Stamping?

Any tips would be great.

The part number of each wheel will be stamped in the face around the center bore bolt holes.
