spacers

what are ze baist?

Just kidding. I have moved onto an OEM 18x 9.5 ET 23 square set up on 275/35/18. i have been searching this topic. I came across the sticky from rldzhao's thread and read it. searched threads, pics, etc but in some instances some never answered the question of which spacer they are running.

i am figuring running the 12mm in front and 15mm in rear. i saw the dude with the blue OEM wheel running 10mm and 15mm, but after reading the 10mm is more of tuner pick and the hubcentric ring figured the 12mm would be a good choice.

i am on stock suspension, car is all stock. i do plan on getting a KW S/O or eibach for reduced gap not sure if how much that will affect the set up.

thanks in advance

Classic post... Nobody can help you without knowing the wheel offsets.

+1 I was about to ask the same question.

However, it is preferable to avoid using wheel spacers at the track. Spacer put much more strain on wheel bolts or studs. It is much better to simply get wheels with the appropriate offset.

EDIT:

With a 23mm offset, you don't need to use any spacers.

Front: Et23 is a great offset for 275's in the front on stock suspension or springs. KW coilovers (not sure about spring-over kit) reduce inner clearance due to the helper springs. I have kw club sports and 9.5 et22 wheels with 275's makes contact with the helper spring. I added 5mm spacers and all is well. You will want/need negative camber in the front to make these fit and look right.

Rear: No spacers needed but 12mm looks great.

Spacers: I agree that spacers aren't ideal but quality spacers installed correctly with the proper length lugs or studs are perfectly safe. Turner Motorsports spacers and studs are my favorites. I'm not a fan of 10mm spacers because you can have issues with the 11mm hub protrusion. I only use 5mm, 12mm, and 15mm spacers. 5mm leaves just enough hub protrusion to insure hub centric (can be an issue for certain wheels), 12mm is thick enough to avoid any possible hub protrusion issues and anything greater than 15mm means you have the wrong wheel offset IMO....
