What makes an M car unique

This is my 2nd M car; and with the exception off-roading, these cars can do just about anything.

Not many cars can provide luxory, performance, and overall versatility like these can. Whether it's going out with the li'l lady, driving on the track, or doing some sport activity; these cars haven't let me down yet.

For those of you that cycle, or plan to use your rack system, here's another alternative(IMO better) than the OEM version.

I went for an early morning ride yesterday and thought I'd take a few pics of the rack system..have a look.

These are great. Plastic clips fit into the roof slots and the system floats above the roof...nothing touches it. The cap you see, is actually rubber, which sits about a half inch above the roof...very clean and safe for the CF.

Base system is from Thule...made for BMW's and Porsche roofs. I can check at home for the exact fit kit.

Yup, just wondering if you had a part number/name. Not a big deal, I only see two on the web site to choose from for the 3 series sedan. Thanks again.

Nah, good enough for me, it really depends on lighting and angle... but I do wish I had the Euro bumper

Compare the sun side to the shade side.

love your roof rack and i think your reflectors match pretty well... not 100% but i'd be happy with something like that too.

Thanks alot; the reflectors match good enough for me too.

Also, for those of you wondering...it takes about 5 to 10 minutes max, to unsecure and rescure the racks system mounts on the car; as I only put them on when I head to the mountains for a ride.

Do you know if there are any speed limitations with the bikes mounted on a roof-rack? Part of the reason I purchased my current M-car (E39) was to get to and from the trailhead quickly and, in doing so, I've hit freeway speeds of 110-115mph enroute.

Also, are there any issues with higher g-forces taking a sweeper at, say, 80mph?

Up to now, I've been keeping my mtn bike in my trunk for fear of it ending up as carbon fiber freeway litter. However, I'm now compelled to haul my son's baseball equipment in my trunk much more frequently.

Thx
