Best cable to connect iphone with m3?

So just got a brand new e92 with no navigation so I used my old y cable from my 09 335i but that would not connect my iPhone. I asked someone about it and they said the best thing to do is buy a standard v
Cable. I was wondering if anyone has a solution or the best brand of standard cable to connect my iPhone, thanks!

just use the regular USB cable that came with the iphone. You shouldn't need a special cable in the 2011.5.

This assumes you have the USB connector under the center arm rest...
