Excellent way to put it in a real world situation...

If I had a choice of a 335 or M3 to get there, I'd use the 335. But once I picked up the $1,000,000 I'd sell the 335 and get the M3.

smart man

Ok so the 335 gets better gas mileage but it's supposed too. Anyone who gets an M3 isn't thinking about wasting gas. The exhilaration from driving it far exceeds the cost of gas. But i would never put the 335 down in anyway because i've loved the ca ever since it was released. i just see it as the ///M3's little bro who gets a little bit older when he gets fed a chip

Just messing with you. The 2 cars are completely different.....don't knock one in favor of the other.

I love Oranges but those Apples are horrible! Doesn't make alot of sense.

Bro...they are not cracking down on anything. There is nothing illegal about after market tuning. BMW finally woke up and are getting INTO the market. They have watched the secondary market (tuning industry) pass them by and have lost millions over the years.

But what you are saying is true....and what it really means....is they are going to FORCE BMW owners to ONLY use their mass produced, overpriced, under performing parts.

Hence validating and continuing to support the never dying tuning market. That is the whole reason it has existed and will continue to exist.

The tuning world will never come to an end.

it's too bad that not everyone appreciates the engineering that was put into a M3. it's not a fixed-up 328 or 335. it is a different car. they look similar but are very different.

90% of the people with an M3 around my area dont use it for what it is even suppose to do...

a 335i with better gas mileage and a simple undetecable plug and play tune like the SSTT gives it just as god brute power as the M3 in a straight line, more then enough stopping and handling power for the streets, and way more usable power for the streets.

for a DD you cant compare a 335i to the M3, 335i does so many things so muhc better. or at the drag strip for that matter, keeping the Tune in mind.. the Race Course is where the comparison ends.

As many have already stated, they are two different vehicles with the same numerical digit and a few like body pannels....both great cars....this comparison is getting old.

Also, no offense, you could say that 90% of the people that drive SUV's, trucks, sports cars, etc etc.....do not drive them for their structural intended purpose; so basically 90% of the people or the majority, deem the purpose irrelavant or something totally different.

Reason for buying is a personal and economical decision; not a vehicle to vehicle comparison metric, which excludes the buyer.

To each their own.

335 FTW!
Exige S 240/Ariel Atom/Subaru/etc...

There are cars with both better gas mileage and better performance. Perhaps a more contrived rational for why the 335i is better?

OP look where you are posting your question and ask yourself if you really want an open minded answer from these badge whores. They cannot deny that the 335i is faster so they bash it instead and the people who drive them. How many posts have you seen in this thread that say, Im leaving my M stoc," Well no shit, im totally shocked. Any mods for an M are not cost effective like they are on a 335. So unless you live across the street from a road course then why wouldnt you go with the 335. Now im sure ill get bashed and insulted for making this post and "how i just cant afford an M thats the only possible answer for anyone not thinking its the greatest car ever built." Save it geeks, i dont want to hear it. I go with whats fastest. Check Road & Track,,,,,see how your "M" cant finish first in anything.

You need to lighten up. Take your anger elsewhere please. If you have nothing sensible to add then don't post. It's that simple.

This is rediculous if true, i freakin put down a deposit (only 1K however) but the damn car isnt even faster than 335i
sigh.

if you want to turn a 335i into a M3 it will take you a good $20k and void your warranty. real M3 owners are not obsessed with 1/4 mile times. there's more to life than straight roads.

OK, 650 km away 60 liters of gas, 3 passengers and 2 suitcases. Maybe we can mount a monkey-car and tow a trailer on the Atom.

Subaru??
