Run flats for the M3

Can anyone tell me if the M3 comes with run flat tires. Im trying to order after market wheels and tires for the winter but not sure if I should put run flats with them. My car came with the 19' double spoked

To save you the search, the M3 does not come with runflats. I would get a set of 18" wheels with winter sport 3d tires.

Why do I keep hearing that the M3 does not come with runflats? The dealer said that mine does, the manual and videos both say it does. They say you can drive up to 100 miles without stopping. I'm a bit confused.

if your car's tires have a designation ZP (zero pressure) on the sidewall, then yes they are, but me thinks not

The M3 doesn't come with runflats. It comes with either the PS2s or the Contisport contact 3s. The regular non-M e9xs come with runflats. Since we dont have a spare, we get an M-Mobility kit in the trunk.

Where in your manual does it say anything about runflats?

I don't have the manual with me so I can't tell you that, but I'll look later. I'm going to take a quick walk out the parking garage at work here and have a look at what tires I have.

The new X5 M and X6 M are the first M cars EVER to come with RFT's.

Of course, whether they are truly M's in the minds of the faithful is debatable.......

effing dealer. I should have known to believe them without looking for myself. I swear that they know less about the car than anyone. Either way, I'm happy that I don't have runflats. I have PS2's.

Thanks for clarifying all.

I think you would know from the ride quality if they were runflats.

IMHO no SUV should carry an M badge.

Shouldn't surprise you that your dealer/saleperson is wrong. Every now and then you get a great salesperson who knows alot about the product they are selling, but mostly they stand around smoking and waiting like vultures to bs the next customer who comes along. JMO

I'll save you the walk. I have a .pdf of our manual and dealing with flats. I've highlighted the parts that are relevant.

Thanks. I was quite sure I saw it in the manual, but it looks like I was wrong. Maybe I read it in some other literature? I know for sure I saw it in the welcome DVD. Either way, I'm glad I don't have them.

That is a very common piece of mis-information. I do not know if dealers just assume that it is runflat because there is no spare. But it is not just you, I hear this all the time.

Hi guys,
how long can I drive with the tyre fixed with mobility kit?
Can I use Mobility Kit with run-flat tyres?

Thanks
