Great car, but I sure feel bad for you people that live in states that require a front license plate. It is such an eye-sore and ruins the looks of cars from the front not to mention the shitty holes in the bumper. Why do some people have their plates off to the side? Is this some special mounting technique or just trying to reduce the rashness of the plate being there to begin with?

Because there's a mounting solution that uses the tow hook mount so you can avoid drilling holes in your bumper. I've considered it...but i think it looks worse off center than in the center itself. So my plate sits in the corner of my dash/windshield. Not ideal either but at least i don't get tickets.

Exactly right. I got three tickets prior to resorting to the plate mount that I have now. I actually think it looks better in person than it does in pictures. I just couldn't bring myself to drilling holes in my bumper for the OEM mount. I guess I am hoping that some day the front plate law will change....

Front - 23.8 lbs, Rear - 25.4 lbs

About the same as many 19" wheels. See this thread for the Volk's weight compared to many other options:

Thanks; I tend to like your taste as well. I will also be switching to the stock 18's with snow tires soon.
