Rahal-Letterman @ 24 hrs of Du Mans?

My aplogies as I posted this a few months ago but, I have searched the web extensively and have still not found a definitive answer: Will the new E92 Rahal Letterman M3 be racing at the 24 hours of Le Mans? I know it will debut at Sebring but will it be at Le Mans in June? My understanding is that ALMS specs and LM specs are considerably different, making the required mods for the 24 hour LM race cost-prohibitive for BMW.

I may be going to Le Mans this year and, how great would it be to see your own car at the worlds greatest endurance race?!?

The specs between the to series are very similar being that the ALMS bases it regulations of that of the LMES' governeing body, the ACO. BMW will not compete in the 24hr of Le Mans simply due to the fact that they have an unproven GT2 car. The ACO rarely grants admittance to unproven teams with unproven cars, unless its from a french manufacturer of course. Not to mention that some 88 teams have already applied for only 55 spots.

You mean see a car that only looks like your car from the outside? This front suspension isn't anything like any M3 I've ever seen. Last time I looked, the M3 didn't have double a-arms.

Actually, to see a car that looks a little like your car from the outside but which shares basically a body shell and engine block and name with your car and little else.

Far more interesting than watching a renault lap around...but, looks like it is not happening.

They will allow really special cars. In 2004 they allowed Taurus Sport to race a diesel engine (which was way before Audi) and in 2003 they allowed an ethanol race car (by Nasamax) to race. I think this may have also been the case w/ the Callaway C12, among others.
