Moving to fairfield/Travis
I am scheduled to move to the Fairfield/Travis afb in november. I'm orginally from Oakland so I'm somewhat familiar with the bay. Not too familiar with the area I'm moving to. What is the area like? And Anybody got any suggestions on where to live that isn't ghetto, and within 15 miles of base.

I went to high school over there (right next to Travis AFB). There's a lot of old housing near the base, but also a lot of new development. If you live near the base I don't think you have to worry about any ghetto areas. There's a lot of ghetto spots as you go near certain parts of Texas street and also near the mall.

I travel up north to fairfield often...I grew up there pretty much for my whole life... I would say try searching around Peabody Rd right off base...they have some nice housing, as well as apartment flats you might like... GL!
