I'm not sure how you're so disdainful of the new corvette. You are saying that you're considering replacing your e92 with a SUV right? I didn't miss anything there?

I'm sure you are asking yourself why not an 850i, Ci or even CSi. Well this car won't be about pure hp but about eye candy for me and the V8 will be more reliable and easier to maintain. The 286hp 4.4 liter engine will do just fine.
I was looking at 8er's for a while too. For what they are (and the way they look), they are such a bargain. I can definitely see these cars increasing in value later on.

The V8 itself has issues of its own no? Personally, I'd get the V12.... just so that I can say I have a V12
They just don't come around very often

I had 2 Jeeps (Grand Cherokee one standard edition and the second one was the Orvis Edition). After that I had a Benz M Class, So I know a bit about the SUV line. Still have to drive the Porsche Cayenne GTS. All the SUV's were my business cars.
Do you need an SUV? If not, then I'd definitely keep the M3.

For me ether a 911TT or the new M4. I am waiting to see the production model of the M4 and its final specs.

Keeping my M3, maybe someday a 458 Ferrari Italia once I figure out how to make a few million and then a boat, house in Europe where I would move all my toys back and enjoy them on proper highways and racetracks (Nurburgring, Monza, Hokenheim, etc) and maybe buy a Cirrus aircraft too!

Ok keep the M3 till it dies

As a current owner of the Cayenne/M3 combo, I must say that it leaves little to be desired. It really covers all conceivable bases with regards to transportation needs and wants, and does so with real performance, style and refinement.

The Cayenne GTS is the best handling SUV on the planet. The issue with Porsche in general is that there is a HUGE difference between base models and higher models and/or properly optioned models. The grade of interior materials in my Cayenne are superior to my M3 with extended leather. Also, after 38000 miles as a daily driver, my 2009 Cayenne doesn't have a single squeak or rattle. It is still bank-vault solid. If I was in a position where I could only own a single vehicle, a Cayenne would likely be it.

If you ever have the chance, and have driven other SUVs for comparison, go drive a Cayenne GTS with the PDCC option. Put it in full sport mode, stability off, and go for a back-road blast. It will blow your mind what this vehicle can do. Makes me really wonder....how do Porsche engineers do this? What do they know that others don't?

As far as looks, I think the Cayenne looks pretty bad-ass:

Well I do in a way my wife has back issues and difficulties getting in and out from our DD. So if it comes to pass that we are going to only one car then the Cayenne GTS would be my choice. since I turned 50 I've always driven high end cars so I am spoiled what can I say and that was way back in 1987, I let you do the math

I never said anything against the new Corvette in fact I do like it. I simply meant that one cannot compare the M3 to the Corvette by referring to it as a poor mens car. I'm in my 4th M3 and 6th BMW in the past 9 years. My best friend has 2 Corvettes besides other cars and a new Corvette on order, he is by no means poor

Only there is a time all good things have to come to an end ... I had my fun with my ///M cars (I'm in my 4th M right now and plan to be at least up to the fall of this year), and I will have some more fun this year taking another cross country trip with my M3. However, there is a time when all good things have to come to an end and driving a Cayenne GTS for as long as I can will be fun for me and much easier for my wife to get in and out of (see my reply to W/// above).

Besides, I have plenty of chances to drive the Corvette (my best friend has two of them and one on order the oldest is a 1961) he helps me with the driving when we take a eastern road trip and I have the opportunity to drive his anytime so all is well.

Exactly how I feel about it Right on one of the reasons I've started this thread is to get feedback form individuals like yourself and it has worked my dad always told me "whatever you do get a second opinion" it has worked so far and always will Thanks

Thank you everyone that have taken the time to reply and vote ... I think the Poll turned out to be a good one Tanks

In only 4 days we had 101 People that own a ///M3 vote on this poll.

Looks like 60% of the replies will either hang on to there ///M3 order a new one or get into another BMW ...

The other 40% seam to have other plans ...

Are there any Marketing Fellows our there ? I wonder what this will mean to future ///M car sales ... Hmmmmm

Through out college, I always wanted the e46 M3.

Fortunately my job has allowed me to get the e9x m3, but after driving it for a year. I am kicking my self for getting an all in one machine.

Until BMW makes a halo car, I will not be back into an M car. The 3l turbo engine is perfect for daily driving for me with decent gas mileage.

For a weekend/fun car BMW just doesn't make anything exciting.

I'm keeping the M3 until it dies, but will probably be picking up the new NSX when it arrives.

its a thread of videos

people on a track that almost oversteer off the track but do not lose control.

I still like my M, but honestly if I could redo it, I would have kept my 330i and got something else.

hey OP, you have a bad picture of the Cayenne GTS (this is the SUV my wife is getting to replace her old one very soon so I know the car well)

this is how they look and yes they are great cars. We drove this and the Panamera GTS back to back, I love the Pana more but only 4 seats and like $20k more is too much money.

But I'm most proud of my daughter's new ride, granted it's not my color!
