AAA Speedway with Speed Ventures 11/19-11/21

Anyone else signed up for this event? I noticed a few other M3s on registration list.

http://www.speedventures.com/events/...il.aspx?id=295

I'll be there for Saturday only. They are running the "Roval" track configuration. Should be fun!

Yeah, it's not the cheapest outfit for track days, especially if you're looking for instruction. I just gotta get this machine on track ASAP and have been bummed ever since the BMWCCA Las Vegas Event was cancelled.

^^^ Ha ha! I knew you'd show up sooner or later. Yeah it seems I'll have to represent BMWCCA and this forum on my own. No other takers so far?

I really want an axle back exhaust, but there is just so much information available (reviews, vids, etc.) that I can't make a decision. I think you and I are on the same page on this. I want something that makes the car sound awesome, no drone, not too loud and not too pricey. Does this exhaust system exist?

Don't you have a prototype on your car?

Yeah, I have the one and ONLY RISS Racing exhaust that was weeks away from being made, but they closed down. It's just a hair louder than I want when it's cold, but just about right when it's warmed up after 5 minutes.
I think the B&B maybe close and the AE unit seems promising too, though it costs more. The Bastuck is probably the safest choice, but also cost around $2,000.

It's a tough choice.
Let us know how the track day goes with Speed Ventures. I've heard very mixed reviews.

It's suppose to rain this weekend. It should make it a little more interesting.
Let us know how it goes.

Yeah, just saw the most recent forecast...awesome. Perhaps I'm not meant to attend a track day this year, seriously. These are rain or shine events, so if I don't go then I forfeit my $200.

It appears that there are over 100 vehicles registered for Saturday all of which are supposed to have (4) 25 min. sessions. It'll be interesting to see how this is done.

It should be good. Driving in the rain is suppose to help you learn how you car handles better. BUT I imagine it'll be a little harry down the main straight going into the bank in the wet.
I hope they have more than 4 run groupls. That's a lot of cars at once if it's only 4 run groups.

Well it's official, they cancelled Saturday due to the weather...the day I signed up. It sounds like Friday and Sunday are still open, but they don't work for me.

To be honest, I wasn't sure how the track would be (specifically the strait into turn 1 as you've mentioned) in the wet. At those speeds with the water sheet flowing down across the track it could be very sketchy. I'm not ready to put my 4 month old car into a wall to be sure.

I don't know how it was in Fontana, but it would have been REAL hairy out there if it was raining as hard as it was at time by my house.
Better to stay safe.
We may look into the Audi Club for some track days at Laguna Seca. They had 2 mid week days last year around March. The GG BMWCCA chapter only does one day events mid week.

Right, it was pouring at my place all Saturday. Speed Ventures is issuing a full refund.

I'm interested in doing some other events in the near future. Hopefully something close to home. Let me know what you come accross.
