Lets all wait till some independant testers, get ahold of this car and see what times this car can produce?

That was my point on the other thread, though the car is clearly going to be great the weight reduction isn't as good as first thought, in fact nowhere near as good as I have heard Audi are dropping the S5 Lightweight so with that in mind I am a little be skeptical as to whether it will achieve the suggested lap time, what with so many braking points and corners involved.

I have to believe that those HP figures are very conservative, don't you think? It seems like they would get more than 25-30HP out of a new exhaust, .4 L more displacement, tuning, etc.

I read some articles about "Power steering overheating" within M3 forum.
Is there any improvement in M3 GTS?

that is an impressive time, considering 30hp + 4.4l, that's the diffrence between our m3 and the e46, it's a huge gap

Sure, but the huge difference, is that between the E92 and the E46, there's 150kg more for the E92, whereas between E92 and GTS, there's appriximatly the same weight difference, but in GTS favor!

That's why a "big" time on the Ring is possible.
I really believe, knowing this track and several car which are under 7.50 that it can do it.

Let's see WR with the beast....

The only thing i regret, is that there's no Michelin PS CUP GTS sizes available, and that make the difference. The PS CUp i such a great tyre on a dry road. Track my GT3 with it and you can't imagine how it grips when it's about 90/100°c!!

I which the pirelli would be so grippy.....

The pirelli corsas are of equal grip. But you will never find these kind of temps at the Nurburgring.

BMW M - the way forward

Right. But it's a mistake.

BMW AG has staked out this new world (sic) of ///M SAVs --- and that's OK. I'm in the pragmatists' camp: sell what has the maximum margin (P-car makes more EBIT margin from a Cayenne Turbo than a 911 T) if it works to sustain the marque.

But, and this is the error: don't spurn the proselytizers, ie. the dedicated ///M Div fans. And by this I mean: give us relatively affordable, focused, sports GTs.

Probably BMW won't confirm this time, preferring to let Sportauto supply a time instead.

0-60 mph: 3.8s
0-100 mph: 8.4s
0-150 mph: 20s
1/4 mi: 11.9s @120 mph
Top speed: 185 mph (virtually unchanged compared to existing car)
N'Ring: 7:36 - 7:42 (will strongly depend on tires, driver, conditions, etc.)
Today I read in the new Roundel (Jan., p. 30) that, "test engineers have coaxed the GTS around the legendary Nurburgring Nordschleife in seven minutes, 40 seconds - ten seconds quicker than the E46 CSL".

I'm pleased with my predictions. Withing range and even close to the middle of my range.

Does the ZCP M3 use the exact same wheels as the GTS? I hear people saying that the ZCP uses cast, while the GTS are forged. Is this true?

The ZCP wheels and GTS wheels are exactly the same, except for the finish. They're both flow-form cast. And yes, I do believe they are made by BBS, but I'm not certain.
