Long lasting race brake pads
Hey all,
I have an AP kit and am running cobalt XR1/2 combo. As I progressing with my skill I am braking harder and resulting in losing approximately 30% in 2 track days....I cannot ask for better brake pads but I was wondering if anyone knew of any very hard biting pads with a potentially longer life. PFC01? PFC11? etc? Any help would be appreciated. |

Endless and Pagid Yellow should help.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

^^^ +1. PFC01s will give you stronger initial bite but will not last as long as the 08s (although my 01s are holding up great, couldn't ask for more honestly.)

Let me know if you want to try out Pagid RS29. They will definitely last much longer.

I'm probably gonna go with 06 or 08 or even 11. Will probably stick to PFC since they are much cheaper. Will let you know what I end up with

don't discount rotor wear. cobalt friction pads are supposed to quite good in this regard..........you already how they perform I would stick with cobalts.

I've heard that the PFC08's are the best bet here. I am running 01's right now but depending on where the pads are after my next track day I may switch over to the 08's for my next set.

So they don't make 08s in my caliper shape (AP BBK). I will try 01s and see what happens. Worth it because cobalts are 400$ whereas 01s are 200$...
Also, they have supposedly not released 11s and 12s yet, which are the improvements to 01 and 08 (I think) |

I too like the bite of the PF01s. I tried the Pagid Yellows and they were a lot different. I didn't like them but that's just me. I'm guessing if you like something with a lot of bite, the Pagid Yellows might not be the first choice.
So I've since went with Stoptech SR34s which seem to be holding up pretty good so far. I have no firm opinion of their wear rate. They do brake and perform like PF01s. Don't the AP kits use the same pad shape as the Stoptech ST60 caliper? If so, ST race pads might be an option.
