Can You Fit A Stroller in the Trunk of an M3 Cab and Baby Seat In The Back Seat?

hello everyone.. my wife and i are expecting a baby within the next few months and i am considering getting the M3 Cab and wanted to see if you can fit a stroller in the trunk with the top up, and if you can comfortably fit a child seat in the back seat with the launch system.. if anyone has pictures of their M3 Cab with the stroller in the trunk and the baby seat maybe i can convince my wife to get this baby on our driveway..

Yes to both (with the top up), assuming the stroller is not one of those modeled after an aircraft carrier.

Launch system is right with an E93!

First of all, congrats on the impending addition. Agree with Foosh, car seat no problem although rear facing seat for an infant means the front passenger seat will have to be up pretty far to make room. I had one in my 'vert and it worked great, my daughter loved the car. For the stroller, get something reasonable in size and you will be fine. We used one that was just a frame that the car seat snapped in to so plenty small enough to fit in the trunk.

Congrats on the baby....I would suggest you goto the dealer and bring in a stroller and find a E93 and check if it would fit. If not get an X5.

Thank you very much.. i think this will be the car.. it seems like the best of all worlds.. i sat in the back of the M3 Cab in the dealer and i fit in fine (had plenty of room).. i also need to see the trunk with the latches up.. when i saw it the latches were down.. and it seemed very tight.. i think i need to buy a stroller myself stick it into the dealers car, take some pictures and return it..

its funny that your daughter loved the car.. i hear it a lot about kids loving the M's....

Sorry, I don't have pictures. However, I just recently transported a friend, her baby, car seat, and stroller in my car. I agree with the above advice about finding one of those relatively lightweight, portable strollers designed for travel.

I bought the manual because I can't live without a clutch pedal to play with. However, the DCT is also a stunning piece of engineering--call me old-school.

It's very simple to install the seat. Anchors are easily accessible. The E93 front seats have a folding latch at the top just below the headrest and slide forward quickly for easy access to the rear seats. If you really want to make it easy, you can put the top partially down without starting the car using the key fob, and easily secure your child in the seat.

I've owned more than my share of very nice cars over the years. I most recently came out of an RS4 daily driver, which I loved, as well as a C6 Z06, and I still own a Lotus Elise and the Cobra in my avatar. I purchased the E93 M3 precisely because it was a hardtop convertible, which, in my view is the best of both worlds.

It is a wonderful car and meets all expectations. It can be a docile, comfortable daily driver, or a monster performer. With the top up, it is every bit as quiet as a hardtop sedan or coupe. It is my daily-driver, has been completely trouble-free, and I love driving it every day.

I would have no hesitation to purchase this car even with a new baby to transport. Below is a picture of the trunk with the top shelf latched up.

Unless your heart is set on the E93, get the E90 and have lots of room and no worries about getting stuff to fit. Besides, the sedan is lighter.

Don't you think he's smart enough to know the pros and cons? He wants a convertible. Despite the weight, some of us only considered the E93 only because of that. I wouldn't be in an M3 if it were not for the hardtop convertible, and would have kept my RS4 sedan.

i love you guys.. easy does it.. lol.. yes i am thinking about the E93 as it will offer me the chance to have the best of all worlds.. nothing against the M3 4dr sedan...

Foosh thanks for your help.. i just came back from the dealer looked at the trunk with the latches up and it does have plenty of room to work with.. i will make the most of it.. have to just show it to the little lady.. i am sure i wont be able to fit the monster stroller, but i am sure i will be able to put a good travel one in there..

OP, make sure to get the trunk mat to protect the original carpet from dirt/stains as a stroller's wheels will pick up everything. And maybe a towel to cover the seat when the car seat is in place. Best of luck with getting the E93..

hey M3Twins.. maybe you know.. someone told me that the baby has to sit in the center of the rear seat.. is that true? i always thought they can sit in the center or on the sides? any rullings on the this? and is it even possible to harness somehting on the center of the M3 Cab?

anyone know or have an opinion on this?

I have two year old twin girls who sometimes sit in their boosters in the back seat. I don't see any way to safely place a car seat in the center. The seat would slide around on the rear plastic center console. Plus I don't think there are anchors placed to accommodate such a configuration. So, either side should be perfect.

next time you get a chance if you can do me a favor take a picture of your back seat.. i would love to show her a picture of two child seats in the back of the cab...

The only issue I forsee is how far foward you will have to move the passanger seat forward in order to accomodate the rear facing baby seat.

Baby means Minivan!!!!!! Stroller, Baby car seat, Diapers, Formula Food, Towels, Cloths, Video Camera and alot more.

I would look into the M X5 or a Honda MiniVan.
