Bmw M3 E92 problem.

Hi guys,
Just bought a couple months ago a brand new Bmw M3 E92, which just had its first running in service a couple weeks ago but I have a small problem with the car. When trying to get away quite quickly, when i accelerate the car judders like it has kangaroo fuel in the car. Any one know what might be causing this problem ?

Thanks,

Bmw M3 Britian.

Thanks for the replies,

When i first had the car my son changed all the cars settings onto sport mode and that is when i had the problem but the other day i set the settings back to default and it still judders when i pull away. It happens on low revs aswell when pulling away, so do you think it is something to do with the M settings ? and the fuel doesn't cut off and i don't think it is wheel hop aswell.

i know he does, that is exactly what i gave. if my car did that i would bring it back to the dealer right away... if it ends up being something serious then they can solve the problem right away rather than drive the car for a prolonged period of time and potentially cause more damage.

I've had this issue as well. At sport plus its even worse. The key seems to be making sure I'm smoothly pressing down on the gas. I didn't think to take it to the dealer.

I've also had this issue. Here's my best guess: Driver error.

I think what happens, is when I'm in 1st (DCT) and have the 'power' button on for increased throttle response, sometimes you hit the gas, and the car takes off really quick, but your foot may be just relaxed enough to lift slightly. So the car slows. And your foot goes down again. And so on.

I'm pretty convinced it's all because of me. Some more 'testing' is required though.

Sadly I have to say it is not u. I want to say most DCT cars hesitate when taking off at not qualifying speeds. Or at least that is what it seems most people are posting. Me included.

I am stunned by how many issues there are with the DCT. I stopped reading the DCT lag thread a while back but apparently there are more annoying behaviors. All can be traced back to one important factor : you do not control the clutch(es) the computer does which was my #1 reason to caution against it when people were pre-ordering in early 08.
Some people at least headed or shared that view and changed their orders back to MT.

you know zuggerat , read the rules of this forum before you answer. We call respect for each other. If you can't perfect that, I suggest you chose a different website.

With sifting through all the shenanigans. Good luck at finding the underlying issue and possibly the fix.

I have an '09 6MT and I can recall at most so far, 890 miles, at full clutch release - while in full sport settings - the car cutting full for some reason. A feeling like a car dieing, running out of full, or feathering a clutch. It was from coming at a stoplight with about 40-60% throttle.

It's been about 2 weeks or so since I've felt anything like that again. Maybe it's cause I haven't been using sport settings or what. Good luck with resolving your issue as well, as it seems, a few others.

This behaviour is definitely not normal.
I have a 02/2009 DCT build. No such problems. I mosly drive on M mode, sport plus settings.
The car pulls hard at any rev range. Granted, at low revs is takes a bit more time to build speed (just like any other car), but it does not judder.
Take it back to the dealer ASAP.

It would be usefull if you could replicate this behaviour at will (gear, speed, rev range, etc).

You're probably fluttering the gas pedal, but don't realize it. I get this too when coming off the line some times.

I know exactly what you mean - I get this every now and again and either have to lift off or fully gun it.

Its quite shocking really but would be difficult to replicate for a dealer to see.

Same for me, in fact I just had my latest update and today I pulled away from a stop and AGAIN it happened. It's like I'm driving a MT and I don't know what I'm doing, at least that's the look on the guys face next to me when it happened, he was laughing. So join the DCT club, if in fact that's what you have.
