Stock Steering wheel rewrapped

Hey guys, just had my M5 steering wheel rewrapped. Thought I would share a photo for those interested in getting something custom done to their stock wheels. I chose for stock alcantara with M color suede racing stripe.

Cool, I guess; looks a little lumpy. Do you have to wear those gloves, now?

Lumpy? The only lumps I see are where the thumb rests are. Everything else looks smooth.

Looks good, OP!

I like the look but I would never rewrap in alcantara. Leather is the way to go for any type of regular use. Alcantara is ruined easily by the oils in your skin and won't last anywhere near as long if you don't take constant care of it or wear gloves when you drive.

It has been holding up well. It is way more comfy than leather and I agree on the oils of hands but I use gloves for long drives and this pic was taken when I drove from Cali to Seattle.

nice. alcantara will last if you don't tend to get sweaty hands. I've had an alcantara wheel for almost a year now and it looks the same. I'm sure it won't last longer than a leather wheel, but who cares, I'll just buy another one when I think it's worn out! hahaha.

Overall I think it looks like a good job however the M stripes on the steering wheel seem a bit 'after-market' that would be my only gripe.. maybe if you got rid of the M stripes at the 12 o'clock position it would then be like a GTS/CRT steering wheel.

I actually wanted the custom stripes as this wheel is on a M5 and there arent any options for a competition wheel so the whole wheel is custom. I just wanted something different and to add to the theme of M colors.

Where did you get it done at?
Looks great, but $600 is the price for a E9x Performance wheel.

But you lose the tri-stitch with the performance wheel.
