$20k for Performance Mods. What would you pick?

I have a '10 M3 and it's an awesome car. I haven't modified anything on the car.

If you had a stock M3 and had $20k to spend on performance mods, what would you spend it on?

The list starts like this:
1. SC
2. Exhaust
3. Coilovers
4. Brake Kit
5. Wheels

then leftover is cosmetic.

it depends on the terms of performance and what do you wanna achieve from that $20k. otherwise, just follow the trend buy whatever is popular and makes you happy.

Mod incrementally. Start with an exhaust.

Driving lessons.
Really.
Best bang for the buck, performance wise, is a day at an HPDE with an instructor sitting next to you. If you've never done it before, there's nothing else you can do for a few hundred dollars that will take as many seconds off a lap time.

Agreed. Spend half on mods, nothing overboard though - you don't want to ruin it by making it uncomfortable, unmanageable, and obnoxious. And then spend the other half on driving lessons. 10k and lots of time should get you to a good level of driving ability. Plus, you would get to actually use those mods on the track!

If it was me, I'd just do OEM splitters, mirror caps, edition grills and vent, intake, scoops, TMS test pipes (cat delete), tune, cans, pads, and brake lines. Then I'd use the 15k left over on tires and getting my racing licence. With those mods the car would be at around 480hp (at the crank) while still being NA.

Those posting SC, exhaust, coilovers, etc are not being realistic at all. Unless, the SC is a Stg I, then yeah, $20k would be doable. Obviously the SC is the biggest money reducer. A decent Stg II will be $13k-15k, plus install.

Light forged wheels, max widths and wide, sticky tires $5K
rear seat delete and roll cage $1.5K
coilover suspension $3K
BBK largest possible $5K
race wing $2K
light, catless exhaust $5K
race front lip/diffuser $2K
So I am at $25.5K so cut the stuff at the bottom if it has to be $20k. For me its suspension chassy over power. I think it would be a pretty close race vs someone who just spent 20K on supercharger and engine mods.

Go on a test drive at a Porsche dealership and see what your extra $20k can do from there..
