Arai GP-6 or Stilo ST4 GT Carbon?

I'm 50/50 on these two helmets and they are about the same price. I've always used Arai and I know that it fits. The Stilo looks pretty good and has a few features that the Arai doesn't offer but there is no local distribution so I'd have to order one to try it.

I tired on the Stilo and its a great helmet. Very light and comfortable. This would be my vote as I prefer it to the Arai although having to order it to try is a PITA!

Nice choice in helmets - you really cant go wrong as long as they both fit you well.

Do you have any experience with Arai for comparison? The best scenario would be one that both could be tried on back to back.

Thanks for the input!

I did try on the Arai, although not back to back. For me I didn't find the Arai that comfortable considering the price. Everybody's head is different though.

I use an Arai GP-6. It's light and of very high quality; it also provides excellent visibility and fits well (in my estimation). Before I purchased it as a replacement for my SA 2000 Bell helmet, I tried the Stilo ST4F. Personally, I prefer the fit and the feel--the balance-- of the Arai.

Thanks for the replies - I really like both helmets so maybe I can pick a direction with a few more reviews.

Thanks

I also use an Arai GP-6S and have been very happy with it. I've seen the Stilo at Driving Impressions at NJMP, and it has some nifty features--built-in cooling ports and space for a communicator--but these aren't things I necessarily need right now. Do some generalized google searching on helmet fits--if I recall, when I was doing research for my helmet purchase, I read that certain brands fit certain heads better. So even though helmets come in different sizes, a certain brand might be better for you based on your head/face shape. In other words, Don Knotts should use a different brand helmet than Ted Kennedy...

PST in Cresson sells Arai helmets...if you are ever at Motorsport Ranch (the Cresson version).

I know they just started carrying a new line of helmets, not sure if its Stilo. Maybe give them a call.

From riding bikes for numerous years and tracking the car, I can't find an Arai helmet that fits my head well at all. I have a big head round head(so Im told), and find that Bell helmets work best for me. I use Shoei helmets when I ride, or use too I should say.

Just as everyone said, you really should try them on, its all about fit, not just for comfort but also for protection if you ever do get into an accident.

I also like a large eye port, but that a personal pref.

I have the non-CF stilo and very happy with it. You should try them on and decide mainly based on fit. Also, check to see if the Arai has replacable and adjustable pads. Stilo does, and that is important IMO.

I found a place in Dallas that sells Stilo thanks to bigjae1976 but so far nothing locally so trying it on isn't an option. So far it's looking pretty 50/50 on here too.

I've contacted dealers that sell both Stilo and Arai and I'm told that the fitment of the Stilo is very similar to the Arai and I know that the Arai motorcycle helmets fit perfectly.

How about looks/style? My wife informed me this morning that the Stilo looks a bit like a storm trooper helmet straight on but then the Arai is solid white so I suppose they are both a bit storm trooperish.

Just run at MSR Cresson with the Driver's Edge...PST is right there at the track so you can try it on.

I'm a big fan of Stilo's helmets, but it's really hard ordering helmets online. You should go into a shop and check them out in person. Makes a big difference.

Do you have an opinion on STILO vs. Arai in regards to quality and similarities in fitment?
