Who ever is disappointed in the performance needs to know that the more power a car has, it needs exponentially more to be faster. Taking a car that has over 500 hp and reducing its 0-200 time by 2 seconds is a very large task and one that you will feel greatly when driving.

It takes much less power to make a car that only goes 20 seconds 0-200 improve to 17 seconds than it is to make a car that goes 15 seconds 0-200 improve to 13 seconds.

If you want a 4 second improvement every generation you will need 1000 hp in 10 years and expecting this sort of thing is just absurd.

Agree, 2 seconds might be a stretch to ask for. I would be happy with a second.

Check this thread from m5board where the new M5 was tested 12.61 at 124mph so here you have your one second, hope you're happy now

Also, it says that the new M5 beats the Panamera TURBO S from a roll

So we are talking about a very fast car here:

Yeah man, that guy claimed that 12.61s was without launch control. Sounds like quite a beast. Yes, i am quite happy Too bad it can't run with the current generation exotics unlike the E60 M5. It was able to hang with Gallardos and F430s. The current 458 has taken too much of a step forward from the 430. Nevermind, a little tune should take care of that Realistically speaking though, nobody really needs more power than that in a large saloon. It's all just crazy "wants" that is getting to the head, mine included.

panamera = awd
m5 - rwd

doesn't really sound like a fair comparison from the dig. why don't we do a gtr vs panamera acceleration. i mean they are awd and weight pretty close.
