tire has got a gash in the sidewall

hi guys,
i gashed my front passenger tire...it is about the depth of a 1/4 penny...
i am getting it replaced but wondering how much do i have to alter my driving to be safe and prevent a blow-out?
i wont corner too hard obviously, but how fast is too unsafe on the highway...i am just curious, i dont plan on pushing my car or anything, i am not suicidal, but just want to know.
the gash occurred yesterday morning.

Last edited by niqui; 04-14-2009 at 05:46 PM.. Reason: gash is much shallower than originally thought

leave it in the garage. a gash of that depth and in that location could result in a blowout standing still!

+1 Don't risk a 70K car over a tire, not to mention your health

Garage List
3/4 of a penny? Can you see air? Park it, please.
