I guess they weren't including doc fees and registration totaling $700. they sais if it comes out lower, they will write a check.

Calculate this and see if it's equal value to what you could see in tax savings. Also consider any items you might have to pay for after the lease turn in.....Phil

I don't like how these numbers are adding up. $700 or so for doc fees is very high. I believe they are pushing 39 months to cover-up some of the cost by reflecting a lower monthly payment.

Being that the dealer is in RI and your registration is FL, where is the expense? IMO, doc fees should be around $180.

For a lease the dealer can make a profit from cost of vehicle, money factor, acquisition fee, doc fees and any dealer add-on (trim pieces, contracts, etc). Tell them to adjust the money factor to .00125 (10k/36). The residual adjusted up in December from 59% to 62%. Have them confirm the acquisition fee of $725. I suspect they are adding to it. Most likely to $925.

^^ he said they always overestimate the doc/reg fees...and that will come down. They won't budge on the MF in either 39 or 36 month since its LRE.

With all of the LRE talk....tell him to give you a higher residual since they try to sell these cars as collectors items.............Phil

Sounds like they are playing the "LRE card" to the fullest (for max profit).

Would you be getting the best deal, no not even close. However being a limited model with the MT, it comes down to "do you need to have it". If so and it's within your acceptable budget, broker a deal and enjoy the car.

I'd call Ryan Amico from Steve Thomas BMW. he'll likely be able to get you a better deal.

Do yourself a favor: stop negotiating with this dealer. They are ripping you off! Call up David Aviles at Northwest BMW in Maryland. He will give you a no-haggle quote with a lease money factor of .00125 on a 36 month lease.

As for the tax savings mentioned above, that would not apply being that you're leasing and not buying.

This dealer is ripping you off big time!

Appreciate the help, I think I'm all set now. We got to a point where a deal could happen. Just waiting for the paperwork to make it official. They come down to reality eventually, just have to keep bugging them haha

Let us know if you were able to secure a deal. It is for the LRE in RI?

For reference, the January rates are out. For the M3 coupe the residual is the same at 59/61/62 for 15k/12/10. The $1500 credit plus $750 loyalty are also available. Not sure if the m.f. changed (previously at .00125 base).

OP, this lease is a no go.

I just did mine, w a monthly of 839/mon (though MSRP 65,795) with 12k miles.
This is even with -2.5k from my STI trade-up.

Then I took the rim/tire, tint installation, and xzillon (I know guys, not worth it for clear coat, but the TOTAL dent/ding protections with loaner cars, even cosmetics on rims IS), the monthly shot up more.

Move onto a better dealer, whatever monthly you agree on is going to change once you talk closer to your delivery date just with dealer add-ons.
That 950+ month can easily turn to about 1100 if your not careful about what add-ons you choose.

I'm not sure if the OP signed the paperwork but he was looking for the LRE model w/ MT. He currently has a M3 coupe w/ DCT.

No worries man, yeah as you see now I was looking for a LRE. g/l with the sale...maybe just put it on lease trader etc.

And yes, I did indeed sign the paperwork for an LRE with manual...I will post up pictures tonight or tomorrow. It was dropped off Saturday morning, and I've been loving it! Some say its a rip off, but most of the parts I would have wanted to purchase anyway, so I'm very happy. And I got a good deal (the dealer came down and gave me free shipping etc). I was happy with the outcome.

Appreciate the communities help!

Congrats on getting the LRE. Yes, please post some pictures.

Not to create a debate but simply asking your opinion on the MT vs. DCT (which I believe was in your former M3).

Probably too soon to give a full assessment (I'm planning on creating a thread eventually on my findings which will inevitably start a war lol). But so far I am finding the manual much more engaging and fun to drive...but the DCT is a work of art and those quick shifts are impressive. To me there really isn't much of a debate...both are great transmissions and both seem to match up with the M3 nicely....its personal preference just like 2% vs Skim milk would be haha.
