Cheap.. They use date rape drug to knock them out then something bromide to paralyze then potassium chloride to stop the heart.. My guess is you could buy all this at your local college science supply store for less than $50, not sure on the bromide if you can buy it or not.

Oh i see, all this time i thought they just inject you with cyanide and then you die...didn't know they do several shots of different chemicals. do people's bowels really release after they die?

The injection itself isn't expensive. It's the process getting there that costs money.

Yeah, it's kinda gross. Since the person is no longer alive to control their own bowels, they just do what they want and gravity takes care of the rest.

I think it's more messed up that some states still use hanging.

If I were to be executed, my last meal would be prunes and beans, just so I can leave something behind for the staff.

Sometimes it doesnt work.. And if they take too long to find a vein to stick it in and keep poking him then it is cruel and unusual punishment. A lot of the people on death row are also life long drug users and it makes it hard to find a good vein to stick into.

Not as cheap as you think. But it's peanuts compared to the cost of housing and feeding the person as well as paying guards ect up until he's executed.
