....19" or 20" Wheels....

Hey Guys,

So I have been looking into getting a set of wheels for my M3. I really prefer a wheel with dish, but I find that 19" wheels with a dish look relatively small on the M3 body. I would like 20" wheels but would love to get some feedback first from people on the forum that have experienced driving around on 20" wheels. I have searched and read some threads convering this topic but none of them were very useful to the information I am trying to gather. My concern is how "harsh" is the ride on 20" wheels compared to 19" and also is there enough tire to protect the rim from small potholes etc. I understand alot depends on how low your stance is. I will be putting in coils and dropping the car to just above the tire, maybe 1 finger gap. The roads here (Toronto, Canada) arent terrible but sometimes get pretty rough. Any help is appreciated, I am relatively new to the bmw scene so tire sizing and offsets for this vehicle are new to me.

Personally I don't think the 19's with a deep dish look small. I prefer the 19's for ride comfort and protection from big pot holes. I have gone through two rear tires from monster pot holes, broke the belts in the PS2's and got bubbles in the side walls. I have insurance on the tires so not an issue. However, if they were 20's, my rims would have been toast both times. See picture of mine. 4 inch rear lip, 2,5 front.

wow and you live in florida, the roads there are amazing compared to down here. Thats one of my biggest concerns that I will destroy the wheels as soon as I go down town were there is alot of construction.

19", because you have a little meat on your tires. Plus you know how your car rides with the 19 already, so stick with them.

20's are a little too "SUV-ish" for me...
