Keep the original color. I doubt you were planning on ripping the car apart to make sure all the area's originally painted get repainted. Also, that kills a cars value even if you don't intend on selling this lifetime.

I agree. E46 had that mid molding that broke up the look.

Don't repaint. I actually bought a 2011 AW E92 M3 over a year ago with the intention of repainting it an Individual color. After a while of looking at the car and thinking about it, the thought of opening the doors/hood and seeing a nasty two tone combo or even the smallest over spray made me feel like I would be disgracing a beautiful work of art. I made the decision to sell the Alpine and just do it the right way through BMW. Keep your color

It would cost a fortune. To do it right they would have to essentially take the car apart. A local NBA player decided to change the color of his 7 series and the shop told me it cost him nearly 30k to do it. You would probably be better off waiting for the new M3/M4 and ordering it as a special color which would cost less than 5 k

It is fantastic on the coupe in person. Brings a smile to my face every time I wash it. But I've seen a couple 4 door BMWs painted the color, albeit aftermarket, that just don't work. The carbon roof is a nice contrast with the coupe as well.
