Please comment on this deal for '10 Euro Delivery M3

Thanks in advanced... The only thing I thought might be a little BS is the "Processing Fee" of $300 - I know they typically have a "training fee" - but reading the literature on the ED confidential wholesale list - it looks like training fee is N/C - as you get trained by the factory when you pick it up. Is that accurate? Should I ask them to drop that $300? THANKS AGAIN!

Maybe it is Dealer fee? or Doc Fee?

That's just another word for dealer profit. But $300 over invoice is a great deal. Mine was just invoice plus $300 as dealer profit. After my trip, I thought I had a steal.

It's pretty difficult to get anything significantly lower than $1000 over ED in the Seattle area. Add the fact that we have to pay 10% in sales then yes, your deal sounds very good.

yes, but...

I'm working through Dave at BMWSOnline. Dave is a really nice guy, a supporter of this forum, he has been patient with me and I think he is offering the best deal around, HOWEVER, back on May 5th he posted the following:

Quote:
Hello everyone. Hey CBoneck! Hey trucheli! I want to clear up any confusion regarding the pricing I gave CBoneck. I did sell it to him for European Delivery invoice (46,930+options at invoice). For those of you that don't know me, I'm David. I started selling BMWs in 1999. Dream job. I've been a member of this forum for years, mainly to provide accurate information from BMW as quickly as possible. Speculating can be fun, but ultimately we want to know info about our beloved driving machines asap. I started BMWSONLINE.com to provide BMW enthusiasts nationwide with an excellent experience at the best possible price. Invoice.

How do I provide a no profit deal? It's simple. If I increase the volume of sales for the dealership exponentially, I get rewarded. The reward does not come from profiting on the customers I value. I've taken the main reason people dislike shopping for a BMW out of the equation. All you have to worry about is what color you want and how soon you can get your new BMW.

There are a lot of sites that do the shopping for you, and take advantage of the fact that we are all busy and just want a fair deal without the games. Unfortunately, they are needed in most cases... but never again on a BMW.

Shipping is very easy too. If my customer is flexible on color and equipment, the worst case we are looking at is a few hundred for shipping. Not pressed for time and flexible on color/equipment? Then most of the time there is no shipping charge. Delivery can happen in a couple business days. I'm on the East Coast and I have many happy customers in CA. You can do a ED/PCD and drive home, or BMW can ship it too. Remember that the transportation industry is hurting too, so rates on shipping have dropped.

Please visit http://www.bmwsonline.com You have all the invoice guides/ rates/ rebates updated as I receive them from BMW. No need to double check with KBB/ Edmunds or your cousin that bought one. So no more "what price did you get" threads, unless you want to pay more. Thanks for reading. I truly look forward to continuing to serve the BMW enthusiast community.
I noticed that when you do a search for that thread here or google and try the link - it is gone - but Google caches the content - which I pasted in.

So, just based on his post (which is how I heard of him), I'm thinking the quote doesn't reflect a "true" invoice price... I feel like a ball-buster and I'm certainly NOT trying to bash him, call him out, etc. I just shot him an email and asked him plainly: "what is the processing fee" - If its an ACTUAL cost that is a part of purchasing a car at invoice - I'll gladly pay it... Its just that I haven't seen anything that states there is a processing fee in the documentation I've received. Specifically, the Training Service Fee of $180 is excluded from Euro Delivery. Finally, I'm not saying there is a conspiracy going on, but I was a little surprised that the link is dead - maybe the guy got his head cut off for posting that and had to get it deleted - or asked cboneck to delete his post?

I would be somewhat uncomfortable too. It's not about paying $300 more, but if he says at invoice, then he should not add any junk fees using different names. I did ED from a local dealer, and there was no processing fee, no training fee, no nothing. I chose them because my CA (Alek at BMWSF) was a straight shooter. He would want a little for the dealer's margin. And that's fine because he was straight up and professional without deception. And he worked like a horse to accommodate my hectic schedule and changing options. I think being straight is worth a lot more than $300.

So - I spoke with Dave from BMWsonline.com - he claims that the $300 processing fee is due to the fact that there is just so much paperwork involved in the purchase... I asked about the thread being taken down and he stated it is due to the fact that BMW jumped on him as they monitor these boards constantly. Sounds like the thread got deleted because they didn't like what he was saying.

Anyhow, Can anyone please tell me if they've purchased through Dave Aviles at BMWSOnline.com? Did he charge you $300 over the invoice for all of the paperwork that is involved? His post says he only charges invoice - nothing more - but is this a part of invoice to process the paperwork?.... CBONeck, trucheli - did you incur that fee? Should I just call the regional rep for BMW and ask if that is standard?

Honestly, for what you're saving by doing ED, and the fact that David's quotes are extremely fair without any haggling, then I do not see and issue with an extra $300 charge. In my case, the car I'm ordering is $65K sticker, and David is quoting me $56K and change. That's an amazing no haggle price, so if there's an extra $300 after that, I'm not gonna complain about it, being I'm saving about $9K on the car already....

You guys crack me up. Sometimes it's like wandering into a combo gypsy-fair/flea-market/M3-forum.

Good luck.

Being fair if he want $300 to do the paper work then it is fine.. Your car is $60k and he only ask for less then half % of what you pay.

$60000 * .05% = $300.00

Sounds like a good deal to me...

+1
C'mon you guys, only $300 over Invoice (especially ED Invoice)
You should be extremely happy you didn't buy a 2008 or 2009 M3 prior to ~Sept 2008 when the prices were unfortunately significantly higher and harder to negotiate down (or up from Invoice); like some of us did

Hi. Yes I paid the documentation fee if I recall.

Given the pricing however I was still up relative to the quote from my friendly Chicagoland dealer(s).

My only suggestion when going through anyone remote is to have them send you your paperwork several weeks in advance of your trip, just so you are all squared away and can concerntrate on planning the trip itself.

It's a magical experience my man... definitely king for a day. I was driving through the alps two hours after I left Welt... I mean DAMN!!!!

Thanks - yeah - again, I'm not trying to be a d**k, and I absolutely don't think 300 is a big deal - I just want to understand what is/is not typical. I really wasn't too concerned, I just saw that the post got removed and that kicked up a flag...
