What did I break?
Long story short I had a small incident with a curb and I'm trying to determine what exactly is bent/broken in the rear suspension. There is nothing severe that immediately catches the eye so before I throw parts at it I want to get some more insight. I almost wish something was clearly fucked up 😂
I was able to drive the car home about 15 minutes or so. The wheel is off center a little bit, one of my apex wheels is bent, and the side I touched has less camber than it did before. I also got a DSC malfunction, which I'm guessing is because of the alignment. This weekend I pulled some of the suspension components apart and the only things I found were a slight bend in the bolt that connects the lower control arm to the hub, and the corresponding bushing is crooked. I'd like to believe that all I need is a new bolt, new bushing, and an alignment but that seems to good to be true lol. I compared the arm itself to the one from the other side and it looks perfect. I also checked the trailing arms since they are by design weak but it seems like they are perfectly fine. I've attached some pictures of my findings. |

Based on what you said. I would do just what you did. Inspect and do the obvious. After alignment you can determine more. Just have the shop check the cross section of the alignment. But just little weird you managed to bend a bolt and a wheel but none of the control arms, even the trailing arm which is the weak feature.
