Finishes

10K Tons Of Pressure

Our new forgings weigh as much as 120 pounds before machining. To form such a thick blank we require special equipment capable of 10,000 metric tons of pressure. This extreme pressure increases the strength of the aluminum by eliminating porosity and improving the grain structure.

True Motorsport Blanks

Many companies use 3rd-party blanks intended for non-motorsport wheels which can severely limit sizes, concavity, spoke design, and critical brake clearance. We designed our very own blank profiles from scratch which gives us total control over the final product, resulting in exceptionally deep spokes and stronger designs.
Learn more about our true motorsport blanks.

Side-milled Spokes

One of the most significant upgrades to our Sprint wheels is the addition of wider and deeper side-milled spokes. Any excess material that doesn’t add strength is carved out using a precision CNC ball cutter. Side-milling is often deemed cost-prohibitive by others, but for true performance without compromise we believe it's essential.

➡︎ 40-50% Wider
➡︎ 50-100% Deeper

Learn more about our wider and deeper side-milling.

A Stronger Lightweight Wheel

Our forged Sprint™ wheels are lightweight without the strength compromises found on typical lightweight wheels. First, we carved out as much material as possible, then we purposefully added one pound back to reinforce critical areas, creating a stronger inner lip and a higher load rating. What’s the point of a lightweight wheel if it’s fragile?

Weight Optimized

We conducted extensive Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to reinforce high-stress areas and to remove material where it didn’t improve strength. The result is a wheel that is exceptionally light without the strength compromises found on typical lightweight wheels.

Independently Tested

We don't rely solely on computer simulations or unverifiable in-house testing. We believe independent testing is critical to protect consumers in this unregulated industry. We chose STL, an independent lab in Ohio, to test our Sprint™ wheels far above JWL standards, including increases in testing duration, impact drop height, and total load.
Learn more about our rigorous independent testing.

Tough Inner Lip

Introducing the Sprint™ spec inner lip, with a unique channel profile that makes it even stronger than our previous designs. So even though our Sprint™ wheels are pounds lighter than comparable flow formed wheels, the inner lip is 32% stronger.

Learn more about our Sprint™ spec inner lip.

Big Brake Clearance

From day one, APEX has been on a mission to build wheels that clear big brakes. Our new forged wheels are the product of everything we’ve developed over the past 10+ years, including an innovative high-clearance barrel design and vehicle-specific spoke profiles.

Deeper Concavity

Our new forgings were redesigned to create extra deep, concave spoke profiles. Their new shape allows us to make any profile, from flat to deep and everything in between. Each one is optimized for a specific application using 3D laser scans of factory and aftermarket brake kits.

Paintless Knurled Beads

Whether it's a day at the track or months of street driving, repeated hard braking and acceleration can make a tire slip along the bead seat and go out of balance, causing vibration. Knurled beads help, but are less effective when painted over. Our forged line features unpainted knurled beads that stay sharp and maximize grip.
Learn more about why our forged wheels have unpainted knurled beads.

Built for impact sockets

Track wheels need track tools. Don’t settle for wheels that require undersized tuner lugs or thin walled sockets. All APEX wheels accommodate over-sized race lugs and impact sockets to make swapping wheels lightning fast.

Laser-Engraved Specs

As track enthusiasts ourselves, we know how frustrating it is to try to locate and decipher wheel specs that have been hastily hammered into the rim or become unreadable over time. With our new Sprint™ wheels, we chose to invest a little extra and laser-engrave the specs on the barrel, in plain sight, making them easy to find and read. (You’re welcome.)

Additional Features

Hub Centric - All APEX BMW wheels with a 5x120mm bolt pattern are purpose built featuring a 72.56mm center bore. No centering rings required.

Center Caps - We don't charge extra for caps and we design our BMW wheels to be interchangeable with the OE roundel cap for enthusiasts seeking a clean factory look. All wheels come with our gloss Black APEX caps included. We also offer optional gloss red or gloss blue APEX caps.

Hardware - APEX wheels can be used with all OEM mounting hardware, proper aftermarket hardware and wheel spacers. Wheel locks and stud conversion kits also work perfectly.

TPMS - All APEX wheels accept OEM and aftermarket Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors and standard fit valve stems. If your vehicle isn’t equipped with sensors or you choose to bypass them for your track/race car, then select from our metal stems available in multiple finishes.

Lifetime Warranty

All APEX wheels come with a lifetime structural warranty against defects in workmanship and materials, plus a 1 year finish warranty. Exchanges are fast, easy, and hassle-free.

APEX Wheel Replacement Program

Curb rash or pothole damage on the street? Make an oopsie at the track? We’ve all been there. APEX is proud to offer 50% off replacement wheels, no matter the damage.

A Fitment For You

We’ve tirelessly test-fitted hundreds of setup combinations in order to provide direct-fit, spacer-free wheel packages for everything from showroom-fresh cars to all-out race builds. Our detailed fitment guides help you avoid costly trial-and-error and walk you through every step of finding your perfect setup.

5 spokes look like the 763M gt4 wheel but that gt4 wheel is a tough fit up front. @apex, is the pad thinkness that rests against the hub the standard 10mm thickness?

Exactly what I was going to say. I'm really not a big fan of any of the split 5 spoke options for these cars but these just absolutely nail it. And the specs/price are a great goldilocks balance. Looking forward to getting a set.

Thanks guys, this feedback is great to hear. It's always nerve-racking releasing a new design especially one that took this long to develop. We touched on it above in the video and other posts, but these wheels required a complete rework of our manufacturing and forging process along with new engineering and tons of optimization so we are glad it's landing well with our customers and the community thus far. The split 5 style has definitely been done before but we are excited about all of the small features we've been able to bring to these wheels and the EC-7RS to improve them across the board while also making sure they were good to look at!

Not sure I fully grasp your question here but the wheels will bolt onto your standard hubs without issues. I might have to confirm the pad spec with our engineering team but their fitment and bolt-on compatibility will be the same as our other Classic Forged and Flow Formed wheels: No crazy hub extenders or spacers are required unless it is needed for brake caliper or suspension clearance and full compatibility with OE length lug bolts if you are running a spacer free fitment.

There is a good chance of it, yes! We would need to see a significant amount of demand for it from the BMW community prior to committing to production, but our new manufacturing options allow for lower minimum quantities of wheels/run in various finishes so lower volume colors may be easier to produce. I can't guarantee anything at the moment and they won't be in the first batches to arrive as we have a ton of wheels to bring the market, but we are excited for additional color options in the future.

Beyond bronze, we've got some staff members also fighting for a light gold color option as well similar to some of the wheels on certain Porsches. Let us know your thoughts on that:

Similar to my answer above, but yes there is an excellent chance of those wheels coming to market! We will be producing forged 5x112 VW wheels in MK 7 gti/R fitments but I'm not sure if the offsets and widths will be ideal for the RS3/TTRS. No ETAs for that project just yet, but it's on our to-do list!

All Group Buy pledge configurations can be changed prior to the Group Buy deal “Locking” by using the drop-down menu below your username on GangUp, selecting My Deals, then choosing your current pledge. You should then see an option to edit your current configuration.

Editing your configuration within what is available for the Group Buy will not alter your position when it comes to wheel allocation.

Brushed clear is an amazing finish, it's one of my favorites. it really accentuates the details on designs like the VS-5RS and EC-7RS that have quite a bit of machining on various sides of the spokes. Darker colors also look great, but they don't show the angular cuts and surface changes the way the brighter finishes do:

We are hoping to have a full customer feature of these wheels on an E92 M3 shortly but here is a sneak peek:

These are 18x10 ET25 profile 3 wheels. Our 18x10.5 ET22 and 18x11 ET25 5x120 BMW wheels will be deeper profiles falling under our profile 4 categorization. We should have a render of the different BMW face profiles side-by-side shortly that we can share to give you an idea of what the different concavities look like!

Tom these look awesome! Thrilled to see 11" options. For additional finishes consider a white gold metallic like Porsche Weiss Gold.

I'll definitely be ordering an 11" set for next season!

We've added the full tables of incoming fitments and their specifications/ETAs to the OP. As you can see, this is a massive range of wheels that we will be bringing to market over a short time frame and this is only the beginning! Fitments that are not a part of the current ongoing Group Buy will have their own associated Group Buys prior to their arrival.
