I would try to see if you can find the original owner and get the stock rims that came with the car...those were really sexy, and I think that they were gunmetal colored for the R version. It also shows off those huge calipers. I think that the X type is more Ford than the S becuase it uses the same platform as the contour and the S has fewer parts sharing. The car should be fun for your wife, and hell....you saved $30,000 over new. Now start saving to replace those brakes! Congrats on the car

Here are some pics that I found of the wheels. I thought that they also came in gun metal, but they are silver here.

I don't know why some of you bashed this car. It's a beautiful and great car. I like it. Did you guys test drive it yet? Even though the handling is not as good as bimmer, it's much better than many cars, and far from any Ford even Ford 500.
Nice car,

Some interior shots plus engine and wheels

I like the fact that Jag (FORD) is using dark carpets and belts. This is the way it was with old school BMW's. Now they think everything needs to be color-keyed like a Caddy. I ordered black interior in my E91 and was thinking Terra due to the carpet and belts. I had Stone Green in my E93 525i for this very reason. I think that if BMW reverted to the dark carpet regardless of interior - or at least made it an option - a lot more people would bite for the lighter colored interiors. Just my 2 cents.

This car is incredibly polarizing. It's a love/hate thing. Personally, I'm not much of a fan of the classic jag look, but I like their new stuff.

S Types are great to drive, but if you hunt around you can pay quite a bit less for a low mileage R. I'm not a fan of the looks or the interior, but the ride quality and handling are excellent.

I saw one on eBay from a reputable seller a while back for $28,000, with lower miles, and it was a 2004. There is a 2005 for sale right now for $28,200 with 33,000 miles.

Just re-read the OP's post. That's not a bad price for only 14,000 miles.

much respect for your candor comment!

I think you're correct in your observation that ladies love jags, most guys I know don't like jag (unless they're like 100 years old), but most girls do.

Yet another surprise a couple of years ago for Christmas. I dumped that for $28750 with 8K on the clock. I think I did well and a worthwhile upgrade for short money. This deal (while going back a year and up on mileage in terms of our just sold S-TYPE) make the vehicle acceptable to her and interesting to me. So it's a cool compromise. The way these things depreciate I think I'm driving a hell of a lot of Ford for the money . Wish me luck. I'm not at all offended by Ford comments. They are real. I think Ford's involvement with Jaguar helped Jaguar. However I think the Daimler Chrysler deal did the opposite for Mercedes Benz. Just my 2 cents. She thinks a BMW will be on her doorstep. Instead a far upgraded Ford with nice lines and a pretty kick ass powerplant .

I'm confused, I thought only the S-type came in a Type R. What are the performance times because no where on the internet do they talk about X-Type R's, only S-Type R's

It's a typo -- he means S-Type.

MSRP of a 2003 M5 was around $66,000......you can find a decent used one for around $35,000.
