Re-read your OP. You already answered your own question. Get the V8, and as CBS said, if you still need more after a pulley and filter and maybe the exhaust mod, then force-feed it! This V8 is simply one of the nicest power plants in the world. Only a flat plane crank could make it any better.

you'll just kill yourself with this 'what if' game. there will always be unknowns and the future cars will always have something better than the current ones. but being ruled by that logic means you'll never get a car.

look at the current car by its own merits and if they are enough to pull the trigger, then pull it and don't look back.

To the op. Personally, whatever version motor comes out in the new M3 I would probably not get the first production year anyways. You could always get the V8 now...which you will love, and then in about 3 or 4 years from now pick up a new Inline V6 M3 after all the bugs have been worked out (if any).

Good luck

Yes it would be a engine like never before ... also hope they give fellows a break and still have an option on a V8 ...

Re: your post to the OP I wholeheartedly agree with you ... best thing he can do is to get a 2011 or 2012 V8 and enjoy it ... then a year or so after the new M3 generation is out get one if the reviews are good.

Well I don't know if you like a Black exterior or Fox Red interior and a basically fully loaded super maintained low milage M3 if you do there is one up for sale here on this forum ...

Just check out this link if you like to save a fist full of money ===>Click here to open

If that is not your cup of tea I recommend you check dealers for there year end 2011 what they have in stock. Even if you have to fly there and pick it up it will be a unforgettable drive home ...

Good Luck to you!

I guess you haven't read my thread...
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=593156

The thread is less than a month old and the results are quite heavily skewed in favor of the current gen M3.
