My B5S4 went boom (impellers end up in the cats) on the same trip to Houston to but a deposit on an E46M3 order. She was clearly pissed at me.

I can't stop laughing. Someone actually mentioned; B5, S4, and bullet proof in the same sentence. This thread is officially derailed!

Ha! That sucks! I wanted to get out of the A6 2.7T into an E46, but couldn't afford it at the time. Went to an STi and now finally in the M3 ; )

The B5 S4 did have a problem with the K03 turbos. The oil inlet to cool the units were too small and led to turbo failure. Water pump failure was also common on these cars.

I was referring specifically to the ability of the block to handle large amounts of boost without blowing.

Just looking for some input, threads like these scare me away ahah
I do not know much about the N54 motor.....the materials, compression, cooling, fuel supply, etc. etc. to be able to properly answer this question. From what I have heard, the internals are strong, but the heat management is weak. Adding extra boost will generate a lot more heat, and that might be your weak link.

You can try to overcome heat management issues by:

1. larger radiator with more powerful coolant/water pump
2. Higher capacity oil pan
3. Larger oil cooler
4. Larger or more efficient intercoolers to handle the extra heat from the extra boost.

Hope this helps.

How is it stooping down when I'm presenting a fact? And in regards to not having a point that isn't a fact, how about this one?

Given that there are quite a few s/c'ed S65s running around here that *don't* have built bottom ends, I'd have to say this is an opinion.

B5 S4 has a solid block, that's about it. They had their whole host of issues, although it was a badass car when set up right.

Coding cable and remote coding flash drive is in North Carolina. Should be delivered to the OP today or tomorrow.

Read my post. Get over my car? What are you talking about? How did my post have anything to do with my car? My post had NOTHING TO DO WITH MY CAR. It had to do with fraudulent behavior for the purposes of avoid responsibility for one's actions and how that behavior affects the way dealers and BMW deals with all of its customers, and thus negatively affects all of us.

Wow, reading comprehension 101.

Cheers,

Why? Tons of actual great info in this thread.
There is some, but most information is speculation at best. Little facts for the basis of the accusation that started the thread in the first place.
The moderators should clean up about 25-30 pages of propaganda and fear mongering. Then maybe we could go back and read it all as a group. Short of that, the only reason to keep coming back to this thread is curiosity, not closure. I don't think we'll ever see any real facts or get closure from the op....

This thread is good for entertainment purposes.... not really much fact here... just a bunch of drama. Although if I was AA, I'd be super pissed it hasn't been deleted yet. Costs them good money to sponsor this forum.
