Dinan Addiction:

I just finished with a Dinan coil over install on my 09' dct coup, have about 2000 miles on the install and the package works flawlessly and has exceeded my expectations. I drive it daily and I love the supple spring rates. I have the front in full drop and the rear about 5mm from full drop and the car has as much travel as it did when stock. It's as quiet as stock suspension, has fully adjustable camber and rides like a stock M3. NOW, I have to say this has worked so well it has further sparked my curiosity, I just ordered the rear adjustable toe links, the solid mono ball kit for the front and the just released adjustable hollow front sway bar. Because everything I have done with Dinan's products (full exhaust, intake, under drive pulley, short diff.) have just increased the stock M feeling to a higher degree, it makes me want to keep going. I cant wait to have the new goodies installed and see what the threshold is now raised to. Will keep you posted as soon as I have a chance to shake it out.

Will be interested to know how this turns out, as there seems to be an awful lot of Dinan bashing that goes on here.

I think the Dinan bashing comes from their pricing structure. While I think the coil-over kit is priced a little high, I have no doubt that it's a quality mod that works flawlessly. Do keep us posted on the future mods...............Phil

No doubt their products are high quality. I think the general knock on Dinan is they don't offer value; bang for your buck is very low.

Dinan makes a coil over? I went on their website and only saw a sleeve kit for some serious $$.

$2500 for a sleeve kit. I'm sorry, but anyone who would pay that is a sucker.

See, that's exactly the problem with all this Dinan bashing, it's way more than a sleeve kit, it has complete udjustable camber top ends, full spherical bearing mounts, is super quiet (I have seen so many posts about other suspension manufacturers kits that make noise) and is a really well built product. YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET IN LIFE MY FRIENDS......

I guess it depends what you're after. I think for that price you could get a better performing suspension. With Dinan you'll get quality and well thought out products, but you aren't going to get the best bang for your buck if going faster around a track (in the case of suspension) is your goal.

You get what you pay for?

I wish it was this simple, life would be much easier. Case in point the Dinan stroker kit that put down less power than an M3 with bolt ons: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=849797

hey OP the monoball kit is a great addition for the front you will have a little more road feel also. I went with the akg bushing instead as they were $200 compared to expensive dinan and does the same exact thing, with the same teflon lining. i posted some pics of it somewhere here.

So how is that really different from a GC or KW sleeve-over kit? You can get camber plates with each (IIRC the GC kit comes with them?), both very well built. There are other examples as well (TCK), and they are all within shouting distance of $1k - 1500 v Dinan's price. No doubt top quality (***not*** bashing Dinan) but that is a large price delta.

Dinan makes a very good product, that comes with a great reputation, and good customer service.
I've had a S/C replaced on my 'ol E36 M3 over the allowed mileage warranty without any questions asked.

Agreed. You could get KW CS if you're going to track or KW V3's if you're just going to drive on the street.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

OP I look forward to your review of the monoball and rear toe links. I am curious about your experience.

Do you have DCT or 6MT? Wondering which gearing kit you used there, as well.

I'm also interested in your review of the mono ball kit, have been thinking about adding it for a while now. And although Dinan may be expensive, their kit is excellent. I had their s3 suspension on my last e92 m3 and it did exactly what it advertised. Better handling without compromise. I just didn't go the Dinan route again because I wanted something more extreme with user adjustability.
