Wow I had no idea the police could do that because an exhaust lol. Sounds like you've had some awesome cars. I have to admit, I miss my tuned 335i with methanol infection. Definitely faster Than my current M3. But I'm in love with the e92 m3. I'm sure your also missing your turbo cars. Definitely a lot of fun, but in my opinion too many things that can go wrong. So needless to say I'm loving this m3 lol

But modified mufflers can be illegal on a few fronts in new york, it'd mainly the decibal level. If you have no cats, then you can get a ticket for modifying emmisions equipt.. But at least in NY, any equipment violation, they give you 1 business day to fix the problem or schedule the fix, they drop the ticket immediately.

California, I've heard if you cant pass a "smog" test, they tow your car on the spot! Some one from cali can confirm or deny that...

Funny story, on my Evo VIII I had a "quicktime performance" or QTP 3" electronic exhaust cut-out valve welded into the 3" testpipe w/ a 2.75" HKS down pipe and OEM cat back exhaust.

I had it open and passed a police officer (IT WAS LOUDDDD)...So obviously I was pulled over. I shut the car off and shut the valve. He asked me to start the car and rev the engine...I did, and he was obviously very confused...Actually admit he made a mistake (Surprised me), but went on to write me a ticket for expired inspection lol..

Slightly off topic, they worked so well on a car with a rather small turbo (Big 16g Twin-scroll), the car went from vacuum to full boost 20psi reg, 27psi w/ methanol turned on) literally instntly...I actually plan on getting dual 2.75" valves once I s/c the M. It's obv diff bc the turbos provide the needed back pressure, which s/cers do not, so instead of putting them immediately after the turbo, i'm going to install them after a high flow primary cat but before the secondary stock cat and resonator and CNT exhaust...Thats going to br FUN

Yea, IDK about different states and individual laws but NY (Suffolk County at least) has some laws on the books that are 0 point "equipment violations", not a crime but a 0 point traffic violation. These laws are a hassle at most considering they give you a day or 2 to get a receipt from a repair shop (or any proof) to show hat the "illegal" mods were removed. I assume just about everyone on here has a buddy or is friendly enough with SOMEONE that owns a registered repair shop to easily get that piece of paper.

The EVO VIII was a great and fun car, but the drive train issues were ridic, clutch, tranny, diff, etc...Almost constantly repairing drivetrain failures.

Most fun car (Besides the e92) was my 91 CRX Si, with a JDM B16A w/ JDM s1 transmission & 150HP shot of NO2...Stock Exterior, stock wheels, stock suspension, and stock exhaust (aside from the DC JDM 4-1 Header. THE Ultimate sleeper...

I'd estimate about 350+whp in a 2000lbs car, it was a rocket ship that ripped all the way to 9400rpm.

If you think about it the e92 combines literally the best and most fun features from both and packages them together before adding luxury and the vanity that comes with an ///M badge...The high revving, high compression variable cam timing of the CRX, the beautiful body lines (similar actually IMHO) to the Evolution 8 (I've confused them before, from afar.) And the great handling, braking, and functionality of the EVO.

Honestly E92 + Boost = Nostalgia Gone, LMAO...And I'm just assuming you plan on s/c your car, as most of us are or already have haha.

I mean common...The M3 was a natural progression in my vehicle selection

Coupe and Sedan are different.

I called the manufacturer because of a similar situation when someone was selling a coupe exhaust and I have a sedan.

FYI - you can buy direct from CNT Racing. $400 out the door with free shipping.

http://www.cntracing.com/product-p/cb-m3-sedan.htm

I purchased the Megan exhaust and couldn't be happier with the price. ~$525ish shipped.

I just installed the CNT muffler on my E92...fits perfect and sounds really good, no drone, no rasp, has grumble and heavy low end bass rumble but not offensive. It is a bit loud for me in the sense of getting attention which is not something that I like, so its more a personal preference. I do have a quad resonator x-pipe to install but very scared to do so as I currently have the OEM x-pipe and cats running with the CNT. I would like to put the OEM muffler back on and try with the quad resonator x-pipe but scared of the OEM rasp. I do also have a supercharger kit on the way too so will be eventually installing that hence the read I need it sort of quiet.

Hi everyone,

We just purchased an 08 M3 e93 interlagos blue with comp wheels 63k mi. 6 speed and we love it , trying to revive this thread to see if I can actually fit the CNT exhaust on the e93 model, I wrote both cnt and Megan , they both wrote back it will NOT fit , I have seen here several people that did fit them , so I assume if we take it with to a reputable muffler shop to do the install we shouldn't have a problem , is this assumption correct ? Also planning to do rear diffuser , should we do it at the same time (easier) or doing the exhaust first and diffuser later would be ok ? From labor stand point I am talking about ...
Hope to hear from the experts ,love the M cars , dreamed about them since I was 12 years old when I first saw one live ...

Did anybody install this successfully , I understand anything can be worked out but outcome might be different, I also understand it is a $400 exhaust , we thought about doing oem exhaust mod plus changing tips , but at $400 for this cnt its a no brainer...

any other options at this price range , I know Megan is pretty nice too but I like the aggressive tips of the CNT ...

On the first page, the OP posted he installed it on an E93, perhaps try PM'ing him to see if he is still around. I remember seeing his pictures but they are not available now.

He doesn't mention doing anything to make it fit. I always thought that Coupes and Verts had the same exhaust, it was the sedan that had a shorter setup, but even then it would fit a sedan just the tips would stick out.

You are correct , I will try that , but it seems as you mentioned that it is doable...
Thanks for your input

I just ordered mine through cntracing.com, should arrive early next week. Its going to replace my Borla S-Type on my e93, I'll give my feedback once installed.

I was also looking at the Megan exhaust but the axleback design won't fit the e93 due to the support beams.

That's great , please keep me posted , who is going to do the install ? Muffler shop ? Or yourself ?
I think that for the money tips look really aggressive and I heard fitting not bad even though I got email from cntracing.com that won't fit on E93 .

But after seeing this thread , I really got motivated again ...
