Video from Last Weekend
A video from my final session at Calabogie Motorsport Park in Eastern Ontario last Sunday.I love this track and it was designed by Alan Wilson who also designed Barber.Ignore the 1st 4 minutes as I only waiting to go out.The telemetry was reversed and the GPS signal kept fading in and out.

Nice driving. Was Fabio Pirelli (black e46 M3) there? He's got my old M3. I'm dying to have that car back.

Here's another video from our Calabogie weekend. This video was shot from MikeM3's car while we were playing a bit of cat and mouse (i'm the AW M3). It's the first time on the track for both of us, so you'll see us taking very different lines than Gearhead999s particularly through turn 8.
These videos don't do justice to the track. Easily my favourite track, its both technical and fast at the same time. It's really the perfect place to find out everything our cars can do. |

Ha, ha! I knew I shouldn't have accepted the pass just as I pulled up to MikeM3, it was way too late, and I didn't brake enough. That being said, its a testament to the car I didn't end up in a barrier. The car is so easy to handle, and so neutral that even one wheel off at over 120kph is pretty easy to reign in.
You would not have wanted to smell my car at that very moment. Last edited by sawzall; 10-22-2011 at 11:35 AM.. |

Yup, this was my first full day out with the Alcons. We were running 30 minute sessions, and the brakes were never a problem, they never faded at all. I was consistently braking from over 200kph down to around 120kph, and I found many times I was just braking too early. I've never been to Calabogie before, so it took a long time before I was confident enough to push it. We've got one last track day coming up in November at my 'home' track, and I think that'll give me a real good feel for the brakes. It's also a course that's pretty hard on the brakes, so it'll be interesting to see if I can drop my times.

Too bad I couldn't make it Duncan. Got tangled up at work and still sorting out the car. Looks like you guys had a good time. Maybe I'll come up next summer...

good job with the gt3. looks like he had some poor lines and you did a good job of not following. he wasnt using the whole track and wasnt hitting any apex or exits.
