I disagree that you could feel a significant difference if any imo. Driving both back to back I couldnt. While there is a slight difference, I doubt the average driver can feel something "significant". I keep seeing threads about the performance and 400lbs difference, yet half the people talking about that have never been to a track and couldnt push the coupe or vert to its limits.

well maybe it is because the car had only 10 miles on it. Otherwise, it didnt feel that aggressive

haha i just saw on another thread where you were talking about the vert having less performance. Have you driven both? Have you driven either on a track or have any m driving school or performance driving classes? Your gonna be disappointed if you dont like the e93 when you realize the e92 drives very very similar.

I've never driven the coupe, but if its the same performance wise, I think I may cancel my order because the vert just didnt do it for me

It doesnt get any faster after the break in, you can just rev it higher. Maybe you should test drive a coupe first before actually ordering one.

no, it didnt. A car being new doesnt make the engine have a "big difference". 400lbs does make a difference, but like so many who randomly like to state facts or track times, most just repeat what they hear. You haven't even driven a coupe, so talking about the lack of performance because its a vert or whatever is not accurate given that you have nothing to compare it to.

I actually wanted the coupe, but the lease deal on the vert was incredible. So I drove them both, couldnt feel a difference and went with the vert because it was actually cheaper then the coupe. Im just saying that in my opinion only, your not gonna feel some huge incredible difference. You might think you do, because you have convinced yourself that the coupe is gonna be so great. Its just a friendly heads up so your not disappointed.

Maybe you should seriously consider this - the E92 is a bit faster but seat of the pants you'll be hard pushed to feel that much difference. The M3 is not the right car for everyone - maybe a C63 would be better suited to your needs, its not really much faster than the M3 but feels a lot faster than it is -the M3 is the opposite.

I noticed that too. The lease deals were much better on the E93 than the coupe despite the big price difference. I don't know why that is, but if someone wants to enlighten me please do.

On paper technically, the coupe is lighter and a few tenths faster, there is no debate there. The question is whether you can feel a difference, where I could not. Without even driving a coupe you have convinced yourself the vert is heavy, not aggressive, and less of a performer then the coupe without even driving the coupe!! The feel of a car is opinion based, you might feel great in the coupe, or you might just be convincing yourself its great. Either way I hope you enjoy!!

I've owned both cars. Not test driven them, owned them both for thousands of miles each. There's a difference, and yes it's noticeable, especially if you track the car or do any spirited canyon carving. Heck, I have the coupe now and I can feel the difference with one of my friends (~200 pounds) in the passenger seat...with several passengers it's quite noticeable. Does the car suck with passengers? Hell no. But you can tell they're there. Look the Vert still outperforms most anything on the road, and it offers things the coupe can't. It's all about what you want out of the car.... |

I'm really starting to think this 335rocket person is a troll. I also saw your other threads where you were talking about bad performance on the E93. How old are you? Do you even deserve an M3? What are your goals? Why would you dog on a new M3 with so few miles knowing someone will be buying that eventually? Do you care or have any respect? It sounds like you should stick with your 335 if you really have one. I tried being nice and informative on another thread you started about lack of performance and torque on the M3, but I think myself and others wasted our time.
It's so hard to come to this website and get good genuine information about our cars without having to wade through all these ridiculous posts. |
