c63 sucks.
Here is an alternative solution, if you want a great straight line car, get a corvette with an ls7 or ls2 and mod it out. if you want a track machine you get m3. i am biased here, since i do want an american muscle car but more importantly m3= FTW therefore m3= 1st place for looks speed performance everything! 2nd place= z06 american muscle sound great straightline performance. i know money is not a subject in this thread but why pay 90k for just the engine? interior sucks, everything else sucks, handling also sucks. therefore does an engine really cost 90k? oh wait i am forgetting the MBZ badge which is history these days. Lexus and BMW have by far passed MBZ, like it or not it is reality. |

do you even know what SMG stands for? I think if you knew you would not make yourself look like a fool on a public forum where everyone is a car guru. SMG= Sequential Manual Gearbox. PS. i could really careless what you call it, i had an e46 m3 smg for 2 years, i hated the smg just because it wasnt engineered well for the street at all. If it was an automatic it would be great for the street wouldnt it? SMG is only fun to drive when there is no cops, no bad drivers on the road, oh wait i think i am explaining the track. SMG= track for the win |

I did like the sound of the car, very nice. The interior was ok, I was expecting nicer for a Mercedes, but I guess I didn't know what to expect. I'm not a big fan of the screen that pops out of the dash. Just me I guess. The styling of the car just doesn't stand out from the C300 enough for me. I can just see a friend of mine that has a C300 saying that I bought the same car as him. But I can also see people saying that I bought the same BMW that I already owned, even though I was going from a 335 to an M3. They wanted way too much for the '09 and then told me they had a truck coming this weekend to take it to a wholesaler since they couldn't sell it. They wanted more for it than a '09 CPO M5 from the BMW dealer...I could just kick myself for not pulling the trigger on that one! I'm kind of biased towards the BMW since I'm familiar with them already too. It's all in personal taste. |

Apparently, the EPA and I agree that it's an auto, I assume because it's got only two pedals and it shifts itself - unless you want to shift it yourself, like pretty much every auto since the 1940s. Bruce PS - There are about six people (not more) on this forum that really are automotive gurus, and I'm one of them. |

Reminds me of people who like to brag about how rich they are. Or those who feel the need to tell others how smart they are. It's less genuine when you have to tell people how great you are.

What happens when you come to a stop in a automated manual gearbox vs. one with a torque converter?

You actually are, although you don't realize it. Most of these forums are populated by folks who are enthusiasts, but are not very knowledgeable. You may have one, or perhaps even two people who actually know what they're talking about.
On the other hand, this forum has enjoyed participation from extremely knowledgeable folks such as Swamp, Pencilgeek, lucid, even Sticky when he was in a good mood, one or two others, and me. Most of us don't post as often as we used to, I suppose mainly because there are so many on here who combine ignorance with attitude. That's a shame, because there is a lot, repeat, a lot of very good content posted in this venue from the aforementioned. Here is a sample of something I wrote a few months ago. or here, as another example. If you have the time and inclination, check out the history of those mentioned. You'll learn something from their posts. Bruce |

M3 forever. Work with Mb for 3 month and I'm already bored with them.

I've heard that C63 owners need new tires every 7-10,000 miles, this would be really annoything to me.
The C63 coupe speaks to me, I would definetly own one - I'm afraid that fully loaded it will be out of my price range. |
