Success! Cantrell's new brake cooling system works
I am happy to report that Cantrell's new system works!
After 2 days track days in 95 degree humid heat at Sebring, I have 50% pad left. Compared to a month ago where I burned through a set of pads in one day under similar conditions, Thats 4 times better...

Cool! Gotta keep the costs down
By the way, what is the relation between higher operating temp and higher pad wear?

As you can see there are a few small rubbing marks. I have not noticed anything while driving

the intake for these appear to just be a hole in a flat plate with a stub out on the backside. the other intakes for the brake duct cooling seem to collect more air from their basic design as they use the whole rectangle to funnel air into a final stub out. i only saw the small picture of the intake side on cantrell's website. can you offer any comments on that? i like the backing plate, but i still prefer the original design for the intake as i believe it moves more air.
do you know if the cantrell intake interferes with the OEM CF splitters in any way? which pads are you running that showed the 4x improvement? Is your ducting run the same as in this thread? http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=652779 I cannot imagine that the design was meant to allow rubbing of any sort. Is there possibly a better way to route it? Last edited by surlynkid; 06-16-2012 at 09:06 PM.. |
