Cool Mosselman M3 MSL Achieves 500hp/354tq Naturally Aspirated

Hey guys!

Just found this on the internet. I couldnt find any threads about this car but I still hope its not a repost.
Unfortunately not too many pics of the car yet but I think it looks promising. I`m digging the forged rims!

Enjoy!

Dutch tuning company Mosselman has announced their M3 MSL which is claimed to achieve a most impressive 500hp / 354lb-ft tq at just 4200rpm. This power is achieved with a redesigned carbon intake system, Akrapovic titanium exhaust system, Camshafts, cylinderheads, and custom software. To help handle that power is a custom suspension and 4-piston brake system. Look good bits include an adjustable CF front splitter, a CF rear diffuser, CF trunk lid spoiler, and 20" Mosselman wheels.

Achieving 500hp on the S65 engine whithout stroker or FI is no joke. I just wish that's true.

Some of the power gain is achieved from raising the redline. I wonder how high it is? Max power is at 8600 rpm, so, maybe 8700. I wish they could have lightened it more but 1570 kg for the package is not bad. I bet the 1570 point is its real weight vs. the 1685 kg for the supercharged car no doubt taken from BMW's "unladen" weight plus another 10 kg. Most M3s do not weigh this much, supercharger or not.

I think its pretty cool that they did this with just the Akra exhaust plus the top end work and tune. NA FTW.

Cheers.

Who's gonna be the first one to try them?!...

Is there any sort of engine warranty for this mod?

BTW, who are they and what is their experience / background? Sorry but it is the first time I hear them (not meant to be an adverse comment, its just me being genuinely ignorant).

That air box design is pretty interesting...
But it's only 20% power gain on the crank and we hvent seen dynos yet.

Cams also make some nice peak power gains on NA and moving redline to 8800 with cams will make power at the top.

The SC compare at 500hp is a little lain considering that's probably boosting 4psi

The reckon the airbox and cams are good for another 20hp

And that's only 16whp

Whats to be skeptical about. Other companies have pulled higher number than this from similar mods, minus such extensive intake work. Its known (I hope) that BMW has their engines output, largely dialed back for reliability. These are actually lower numbers than what most of the competition is boasting. (not sure about the torque curve though)

Im not surprised about the HP gains I'm surprised about the HUGE Torque gains...

I Dyno'd at a tad over 400 WHP and 295 WTQ and I'm naturally aspirated. Im very close to their numbers on HP but Tq they KILL me. As an FYI that dyno was on a wheel hub Dyno (Dynapack) using instructions from pencilgeek for gear and ratio to use.
