What doesn't make any sense at all is that they diagnosed the whole car the day we picked it up because the service manager said something didn't feel right and everything came back fine.. So I have no idea what is going to happen and how the car could already be doing this.... They said they reflashed the whole car too when they diagnosed it.
Could be anything, but for sure it will be less dramatic and less expensive than you think. Don't be afraid, it's only a car, and dependable once you get the bugs worked out.

BMW techs are a 'process of elimination' bunch, careless with your money.

Sounds like idle valve or a throttle actuator

49,000 miles on mine... Bought used from carmax with 38,000 miles.

Daily driven 80 miles a day, 1 track day since I bought it 4 months ago... Also added intake/ track pipes/ ESS tune/ exhaust and its running strong dynoing 373whp at EAS with zero issues...

Plan to do oil analysis next time I change oil

Rolled 100,000 miles on mine yesterday

No issues to report, need to do a brake job and flush some fluids

few small rattles showing up in the interior I need to chase down

But other than that, car is tight as a drum and still a blast to drive

Bought the car Feb '12 with 46k miles and now I got 69k. I have ESS tune, full akra exhaust, 10 track days and driving daily. Only problem I had was this weird vanos timing issue which was fixed by BMW around 55k right when my maintenance expired but since that I had no issues what so ever. Hope to come back at 100k with awesome update

Do you hear this as you approach the car to get into it?

Why did you put shit on your car the same day, that you didn't need? There is your problem. Whats wrong with learning the car stock?

So many new owners so quick to jump on the "I have to mod" bug...

Get out and enjoy it as is. You have a few more months before Winter.

He's in So Cal, since his location is Disneyland (I don't know if that is meant to be taken literally or metaphorically, but I'll assume the former) so I don't think Winter makes much of a difference

Still going strong. Runs better all the time. I have an oil test kit ready for the next oil change.

Not my car, sadly. Also sadly, it was crashed, so that's as high as it'll be going
