How to stop car from heating the cat

Hi fellow members, I know some of you may say "use the search bar" but I dont know what it's called.

I have recently just changed my Xpipe and it keeps on heating up the "cat" and it makes a very horrible sound, I'm just wondering how to get rid of it, is there a tune or something to do?

Thanks

It's called "cold start"and yes it can be stopped by either a tuner shop or plug in hardware solution.

PS: sounds like you need a gintani exhaust to help with that cold start. LoL.

Another useless comment/pic from the latest forum troll.

OP, deleting the cat heat cycle is a feature offered by most tuners. It's a great excuse to get tuned and make full use of that new xpipe!

Hope this answers your question. I'm sure some of the forum sponsors will pop up here offering you different options.

Appreciate all the useful comments. I will ask my friend or a local tuner to turn off the heat cycle. It sounds really nasty (exotic), RPi xpipe with OEM rear, the tips are so small it whistles at times but soon, I'll have a rear section to go along with it.

Thanks for the useful comments!

Can I just bring it into a tuner and ask him to turn it off? It's like programming the mirrors to fold in automatically and the rest of the accessories right?

Cheers.
People are wired a little to tight if they're thinking it was to be taken seriously. I thought it was amusing although jokes like that are not going to be well received by some folks.

On a serious note, you can get a tune that disables heating the cats on cold starts. Mike Benvo at BPM Sport is your man.

dont be too quick to remove that sound, my guess is it will be music to your ears rather shortly. sounds like the car wants to kill someone.

Agreed...best 30 seconds of my morning commute occurs immediately after starting her up and letting the Akra Evo wake up the neighbors :-)

I am in Toronto, are there any local shops?

I hate that sound though, sounds like my car's about to break down. It screams like a lambo....not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

You might have an exhaust leak which you are percieving as a bad sound. I have a stock rear section with catless xpipe and it has never whistled nor would it ever-impossible.

Sounds like a whistle coming from a leak which maybe is making a funny sound at cold start

Appreciate that, I'll get my friend to look into that, most likely the Vband part.
