The alpha 9 will smoke this M3.

The Alpha 9 is in a different league when it comes to speed and power. IIRC, motortrend did not compare the alpha 9 with a ZR1 or porsche turbo, but a veyron.

No doubt, I drove up to the event in my buddies Alpha 9 GTR, it's really silly to compare it to a Supercharged M3, especially on the stock block. I'll run him in my VT3 when it's ready, probably won't have a chance with that setup either, the Alpha 9 is an ungodly fast, incredible car.

Post some vids man! I would be happy and contented if had a VT1 on my m3.

VT3 is also another story. Not Alpha 9 fast, but fast enough to smoke a lot of cars on the road and track.

How many M3's here have an air filter, tune, and exhaust? A lot.....

$ per $ is a whole different story. Switzer P800 package was dropped to $14k right now and that includes the full enclosed car shipping.

Definitely a GORGEOUS M3 and lots of time put into it.
Just so the information is spread correctly, the P800 kit from Switzer does not include labor... if you call Neil over there, he will quote you around 10k for labor and additional parts required. I'm not saying it's not a good deal because I am a GTR owner, and have been talking to Neil quite a bit. They make amazing cars, but just clarifying that you can't get a P800 shipped for 14k. These are 2 completely different platforms, yes, a GTR in general will always be faster but for an M3 owner to slap on one of these ESS kits and walk some mildly modded GTR's is a huge accomplishment in my opinion. I ran my stock 12 GTR at the event, and beat on some cars... not to mention, if you love road course events, which I personally love, to add that type of torque to a car as balanced as an M3 would be amazing. Props to ESS for putting these packages together. On a side note, as I was leaving Trona, I saw the entire ESS crew pulled over at one of the salt mines taking pics of the orange car... post the pics Roman! That must've been a sick shot.

Excellent contribution to the discussion. Don't think people realize how fast a stock GT-R is, can't wait to see some modded ones flying past me on track

+1
There was a big heated thread about this on Nagtroc. That package included the cost of the kit and transport to and from their facility, but did not include the cost of labor. The end bill comes out to ~25K after labor. To compare, a comparable kit such as the alpha9 and SPE750 come out to around the same price after install.

Everyone keep comparing the M3 with a GTR like they are supposed to be in the same class. The GTR is a $97k car and the M3 is a $60k car. Sounds to me that a fair comparison would be an M3 with $37k in mod vs. a stock GTR. No?

The performance of the red e92 M3 is impressive!
I also find the HPF M3 equally impressive.

I really appreciate all the compliments and support guys as well as the informative discussion going on here as do the guys over at Shift-S3ctor, it's a ton of work to put an event together like this, and it was a huge success for them. The event was so much fun, all the people there were professional and extremely fun to hang out with, just a total blast, can't wait for the next one.

Incorrect. The end bill is $20k after labor and the optional oil cooler. How do I know? My friend that lives across the street from me had a P800 package installed on his car during the sale, and I saw the invoice.

Sure, that is against a ZR1, it was the final run for the tuner challenge trophy, which was a rematch and I lost that run. I hit the rev limiter in 2nd gear at the very start and fell back but held it there after that, but I'm not sure if I'd won anyway. I got the ZR1 in the first run, but did get a slight jump at the cone, and pulled it about the same, but I think with a clean run the cars are very close.

Bimmerpost will post up both runs when I get them, I'm still waiting to receive them as well as other vids.

That was a fun run, I got to ride shotgun. I told Drew to run with the ZR1 he would need to be perfect and right off the start he hit the rev limit That ZR1 was crazy fast and I believe the driver only lost twice that day, once to Drew in the morning and once to a Viper she later in the day walked away from on the rematch. Those cars stock from the factory are all business.
