'09 NAV Voice Command SUCKS!!

It doesn't even understand "IPOD" I have to say external audio. WTF? My 08 X5 understands "IPOD"!! It doesn't understand a few other words either. Also, the volume for the voice command mysteriously gets softer.

Anyone have this problem? Is there a fix available through a software upgrade or something?

I'm on my 3rd car with some variation of voice commands (no M3 yet...) and they all suck. I say, "Cancel Guidance", and the stupid chick says, "System is now showing the Gas Station icons".

I'm a Canadian living in the US, with just enough accent that the occasional person picks out that I'm Canadian. It's not like I have some thick accent that people can't understand.

I don't even try with voice recognition anymore.

It is amazing how bad the system is. On the Infinti its AMAZING. Clearly it can be done, BMW just hasn't figured out how. I've tried to use it a few times but its really quite bad and behind the times.

Agreed. I even tried it in spanish and even I was confused after that LOL. It works with only the real basic stuff. Radio. AM. FM. etc and the root choices, like Navigation, etc but once you get into submenues, it sucks.
