Done with Crevier BMW

They are absolutely the worst. I don't know if they have gotten too big or just don't care about customer service but they are horrible.

I expressed my concerns with the bad service during my first 1200 mile service so today they got another chance.

My car now has 8,000 miles on it. I go to start it after driving it all morning and the car freaks out. It barely started while sputtering to an idle all the systems starts going crazy. I couldn't even read them all. First it says engine failure, then tells me it's going into limp mode, then says something about the DSC system and find ally comes to an idle with the check engine soon light lit and says it is safe to drive to closest dealer. I drive from Cerritos past Shelly BMW to Crevier. Of course upon pulling in they ask if I have an appointment. Of course I don't so I tell them the situation. The guy goes into the office and comes back out. Says I will need to leave the car but they have no loaners so can someone pick me up. No can do and i need a to get to a customer appointment. The guy proceeds to tell me that's too bad then we can't help. We have no loaners. I ask if something else can be done like maybe a rental car. Nope we don't do that but if you want to pay for one and make your own arrangements that is your option.

Needless to say at this point I am a little frustrated. I call Shelly from the lot. l get there service department. I tell them the situation. Guy says no problem. Bring it in and we will get you a car. We don't have any loaners left but if you don't mind we will put you in a rental car at no expense. Needless to say car if dropped off, Shelly customer for life all will never step foot on Crevier lot.

I decided to call the General Manager to fill him in. Of course wouldn't answer the phone and hasn't returned my message. I guess they just don't give a crap.

That sucks, but who were you talking to, an actual service advisor or the person checking in the cars in the garage?

I've used Crevier BMW to buy and service my wife's 335 and had my M3 serviced under warranty and had outstanding service.

They were consistent everytime: polite, fixed all of my problems, free loaner car, and they always give me flowers to take home to the wifey.

On my M3 i was 3 months until my warranty expired and I arrived at Crevier with a list of stuff I wanted done: oil change, front and rear window rubber seals, and oxidized black chrome window trim. They fixed it all even though the window trim was not a warranteed item.

Of course, I stopped going to them 8 months ago when my warranty expired. Maybe I was fortunate.

just be honest if and when you get your survey about your recent visit to Crev's service dept...

If you don't get one..make sure you post a review on yelp and google...

I had a complete shit time there, definitely not going back. The Service Advisor have no idea what is going on with their cars, and every time I take my car there (twice so far) I've gotten the car back after 3.5 days! That's not right, and that too things were still not done properly.

It's been hit or miss for me at Crevier, but I've had more crappy experiences than good ones. There has definitely been a major decrease in the quality of customer service over the past year or so.

I try to avoid that place whenever possible.

I've never used Crevier but Irvine has been great to me on many little nit picky things and a couple serious issues also. Sterling had the best deal (by leaps and bounds) when I need a new battery but they made me drive a Chevy Malibu lol!

Well the update is this so far.

In regards to the car. Shelly still has no idea as they have not been able to look at it as I did not have an appointment so it is still sitting there. I have to say though they have over-communicated the situation, asked me if I was still good in the rental etc. At this point I don't care as I am leaving town anyways so early next week is fine for me.

In regards to Crevier they did never call me back so I sent a lengthy email last night. That was replied to about after I sent it. I then got a call today from Crevier. The customer service manager called and was VERY apologetic. Basically begging me to give them another try. She apologized, stated that she does know who handled my situation and it was absolutely wrong and they supposedly even had every service advisors and lot person into a meeting to resolve the issue to ensure it never happens again. Who knows if all that is true but at least it made me feel better.

I will post another update on the car when I know something. Until then I am rockin' the Malibu.

I wouldn't go back. If they would have apologized on the spot, and asked for another chance, I would have given them the opportunity. But for them to brush you off is not acceptable.

You are just so darn far away. I do really like the fact you are on the forums listening in to what people want and are always willing to help and offer specials. I think that is very impressive.

Well sadly I live two blocks from Shelly, McKenna is only about 10mins down the 5N freeway. It's one thing to cater to the community but I too actually drive an E92 M3, and before I came over to McKenna I was servicing my car at Shelly, sadly they never gave me a loaner car hahaha.

Been going to crevier for 3-4 times now and no problems here. I do read reviews on how bad they are in the old (and in this) post. I kind of agree with OP about they're getting too big. I think I'm going to you guys for my next service and hopefully there won't be any issues (with mods ).

Charlie's the man!!!

OP, sorry to hear about this bad experience. It's unfortunate that some dealer's overlook the details in sight of the big picture, when really we ( the enthusiasts ) are what keep them and this brand successful.

Shouldn't have to deal with the hassle, but you got to think that an actual SA would have given you a rental, but I guess you never know with the other posts in this thread. The guy checking the car in was just doing what he was told and may not have relayed the information correctly.

shelly always gave me a loaner if they are out of loaners then they paid me for the hertz rental cars. I really liked their service department but they are over priced. so l am gonna try the Mckennabmw for service since my warranty expired.
