Hi everybody,

Anybody gotten a dealership oil change recently? I got a quote from Bavaria and they want ~$426. Wondering what others' experiences are.

I was pretty shocked with that price.

Just wondering if anyone on here sold a white on white 2008 M3 Sedan recently? Found one for sale at a dealer with E90 Post stickers on the window, was hoping to get some history on the car?

Anyone bought an extended warranty through Bavaria? My factory warranty ends in 1 year and I was quoted $3200 for 3 years through SAL.

The BMW Dealership (any of them) should have all maintenance records for your car on file or? Did you ask o see them before the purchase?

I dealt with Bavaria BMW (lived many years in Edmonton) they are pretty good.

I had my 2002 M3 serviced at Eurasia when I lived in Edmonton, they are excellent and you will get it done to the same quality and a lot cheeper. I take it you like to change your oil more often then what BMW recommends? You drive a 2011 then there should be no charge for oil changes.

Check it out.

Thanks for the info. The car is from the USA so they don't honor the normal no-charge maintenance.

I understand ... Perhaps in that case one needs to time vacation trips so that service can be done just across the border ... Just saying.

I do realize Edmonton is nowhere near the US border and it would be a long drive and time consuming. Therefore the idea to combine it with a road or vacation trip.

In Toronto there is a former US member transferred to Toronto he also has a US delivered m3 and has his serviced in Buffalo, then his drive is not too far.

Still the folks at Eurasia are great check them out they serviced my then m3 e46 and our DD from that period a 300 AMG. If you go tell the owner Dieter send you

Good luck!

Anyone able to comment on the Dinan tune? I was going to add it in April.

Also, anyone change their spark plugs yet? I am at 60k km and was going to do them also in April.

Thx.

I have the Dinan tune, but it is the one for the catless mid-pipe. I had the dealer install it before I took delivery since I already had the Akra Evo ready to install. I can't compare the difference to stock, but I can tell you that it works nicely, deletes the speed limiter, (if that is even important to you) and raises the rev limit so that you can shift right at 8400. I remember in my 09 M3 the rev limiter used to intervene before the needle was even at redline in 1st and second.

As for spark plugs, I have 27K on my car and haven't done them yet.

I have the Dinan stage 2 tune, and I did mine incrementally. It is not terribly noticeable in the seat of your pants, but it definitely feels smoother and makes the power band wider and more useable. The stage 2 in conjunction with the mid-pipe install was the biggest jump in power, but even the stage 1 added some excitement.

changed the plugs last summer at 57XXX km. Fairly easy job (contrary to what others on this board say). Old plugs looked worn, but didn't notice any appreciable change in performance (again, contrary to what others say).
