Hennessey Lexus IS-F and Nissan GT-R in the works

As controversial as the owner is, no one can deny that Hennessey puts together some mean cars that are recognized around the world. The Lexus IS-F and the Nissan GT-R are rising stars so why not push them to extreme limits?

Hennessey’s already heady list of tweaked marques includes famous brands like Bugatti, Bentley, BMW and Porsche. But now the American-based tuner is looking to add some Japanese iron to the mix with Nissan’s Godzilla and Lexus’ recently unveiled IS-F.

The Lexus will arrive first and is set of launch later this year. The planned mod list includes exhaust, headers, and intake upgrades and possibly a supercharger kit. Starting with a base of 417hp, and given Hennessey’s penchant for insane power, it’s a safe bet that the supercharger will move from ‘possibility’ to ‘near certainty’ in short order.

The GT-R on the other hand isn’t due to leave Hennessey’s shop until 2009 and no word on what mods might be done to it has surfaced yet. Still, with the company planning a tweaked Corvette ZR1 and Camaro for the same year, it’s sure to add some zip to the seriously fast AWD Japanese budget supercar.

You don't think the IS-F's bulging hood looks like a beluga whale?

only thing i hate about the IS-Fs looks is

1. Exhaust is god awful....prob. the worse on any PROD car ever...
2. The vent behind the front axle/fender...absolutely ugly...

So Hennessey will start screwing Lexus and Nissan owners.

Too bad his cars also aren't as reliable as the other tuners out there.

His shop is less than 5 minutes from my parents. I use to see and hear cars all the time. They were usually the same ones though. Since loads of cars in the shop are missing essential parts to get them to their customers.

Hennessey is a crook. He might make bad ass cars, wait I can't say cars, because he only makes one and canibalizes the others for parts. I feel bad for his customers that are still waiting for any signs they might get what they were promised.

I keep scrolling up and down between your post of the whale and the post above yours with the side shot of the IS-F, and it does have an uncanny resemblance. I guess the Toyota designers take natural inspiration from all the wrong things.
