You can get rid of the error codes for the inner trunk lights by re arranging the order of the wires like pictured.

Can you post pics for the left and right side plugs?

I installed the trunk portion lights. After just pluging them in the lights, I got a light fault in the dash. After some trial and error, I got rid of of all the faults and the lights (including the rear fogs) are functioning properly now. I have included the correct wiring for the Rt side that worked for my car (see discalimer in post#1). Also, a picture with the Lci conversion with the non-led lights as I am still waiting for those to come in.

Use a small flat head screwdriver (i'm talking like the size you would use on eyeglasses) to depress the pressure fitting.

do the outer tails require any wire swapping or retro harness? or is it just the inner tails, a quick code and go?

No simple plug and play. Inners need a couple wires swapped and coding and that's it.

Pre-lci trunk lids yes and post-lci trunk lids don't. Hope this helps.

ugh... why are there two different parts?
they list the same cars ... they both look like the inner tail lights ...
the only difference is in the description one says
trunk lid v. lift gate ...

which is the right part number?

the trunk swap went well
even swapped the trunk key lock cylinder
everything works
and it really makes a huge difference in the look of the car

for a few minutes, i had a nice e90 LCI 328i
thought about keeping the 328 badge on

aligning the tail lights and the trunk was a pain in the butt
there was a bigger gap on the right side
so i adjusted it as much as i could
it's not perfect but it's much better than what is seen in the last photo

Wiring for my 12-2007 build E90 M3 was different.

I tried to re-wire as shown earlier in this thread and that didn't work right for me, the wrong lights were lighting up. (rear fog instead of reverse, reverse instead of park). So the wiring must not be the same for all cars.

Busted out my tester, and this is what made everything work correctly for me:

Coding after that was easy and error free.

I turned off the all COLD/HOT monitors that apply using NCSdummy to translate the values.

I didn't keep track of which ones as I just did it on the fly.

Just wanted to add my experience with the wiring.

I found directly mirroring the right side on the left did not work. Below is the way I got it to work.

On the right side, I followed the first instruction (from outside) - blue, brown, green, yellow.

On the left side, purple, green, brown, yellow. (this seems to be the same as tdott's left side wiring photo).

Strangely, I do not get any bulb error or quick flashing turn signals - so so far I don't need to code any errors out.
